ANY IDEAS????

Post by smalltownITguy »

So my boss he runs a small business. we are a metal shop. he just purchased 4 BLACK MAGIC EXTERNAL GPU'S to hook up to our 2018 i3 mac mini.
dky he got them but he wants me to hook them up for him.

will this work with folding@home.
he purchased it directly for this purpose because he had a family member die from cancer.

Welcome to the folding support forum.

Running under macOS this will not work, GPU folding is not supported by the F@h client software. It can be done by installing Windows or Linux on the Mac Mini. I am not familiar with all of the virtualization products available, possibly folding could be done in a VM running Windows or Linux if one of the macOS virtualization products supported GPU passthrough well enough.
