I have a similar report on French FAH-Addict of a p6012 not showing progress. Apparently, log file is not changed (so monitoring tools show no progress) but files seems to be modified in /work ...

Here is the direct link in case you want to see the original report : http://fr.fah-addict.net/news/news-0-239.php?com=0#m792

Well it was full 100% but I was running 2 versions, I have since stopped the first version, give the 2nd the -oneunit to finish it up then going to try running one version and see what happens...

If you mean your running 2 SMP clients on the same computer and doing A3 WUs, that won't work very well.

Yes I was running 2 smps because the old client could not load the cpu, that is why I am trying a single now to see what happens. Can the new SMP2 fully load the cpu with a single client now? If it can its about time...

Yes, but that's not the point. Since the bonus is tied to promptness of returning the results you will certainly not want anything extra running that might slow down the primary WU. Please read the announcements.

I read the announcement a few days ago, I am not worried about points on this rig its my main rig, I have several others running linux and -bigadv for the bonuses

Yes, the A3 core can fully load a CPU. If you have HT on, watch out, though. Earlier gromacs versions benefited from HT, but the latest ones are streaming data more efficiently and don't show a boost. Initial experiments showed equivalent performance with -smp 16 HT using a dual X5500 vs. -smp 8 and no HT.

PS using -smp 8 and no HT was substantially faster than -smp 8 with HT on (with 8 physical cores); this is likely because both Windows and Linux do a poor job of matching threads to physical cores vs. virtual cores.

With FahCore_a1/a2 I have successful by setting affinity so that FAH has access to one virtual Core per real Core, leaving the other half of each real Core free for other activities. (It's a real pain to set manually but IIRC affinity changer can do it for you.) I don't know if this applies to FahCore_a3 or not, but I suspect that it does.

Those times look quite good. Could you please describe your environment for that computer. i.e. how many cores? cpu speed? gpu also running?
