Suspicious activity when I click the team link in my F@H client

Post by UglyBoy »

Whenever I click on the Name or team link in the F@H client, It opens up the F@H web page and my bitdefender pops up saying it has blocked a suspicious connection. The connection is to RUNFORTHEKING.COM and the F'H website tried to redirect to that everytime I open the aforementioned links in the client. whats going on?

Are you using a VPN?
What DNS service are you using?
Have you scanned your computer for malware?

I don't use a VPN
I am using Skybroadband.com
And I have completed numerous scans using the windows malicious software tool, Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, spybot, and nothing is popping up as suspicious.

What team are you folding for, and have you entered a custom link in the preferences through FAHControl? The default settings will not do this. The user stats link in the Web Control goes to stats.foldingathome.org, the team link goes to whatever team site was entered on the team registration at foldingathome.org

Otherwise it looks like your DNS lookup is being redirected either by malware on your system, a router between, or your ISP.
