GPU memory limitation

Hi there,

Using F@H 7.6.21 on my W7x64 desktop PC, I noticed that I could let the GPU slot running all the time, even if watching movies, as long as the WU memory requirement was "low enough". It is about 1.2-1.8Gb right now and the display is lagging / has adherences.
Is there a way to limit the GPU WU memory requirement ?

The desktop lag is not related to GPU memory, but the inability of a GPU to schedule multiple work like a CPU can do ... lag is caused by slow GPUs and/or big projects (but this remains relative).

What GPU do you have ?

The easiest fix is to pause GPU slot when you need to use it, and resume it when you're done.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 GK106 A1 with 2Gb of GDDR5

As my GPU doesn't lag with many WU, is there a way to avoid big projects ?

Slow and old GPU indeed ... I strongly recommend upgrading it, Kepler is the next family of GPUs to leave support, although we don't have any official date yet ...

Bigger projects are excluded from slow GPUs by using the GPU species by the project owner and internal testers ... but with such old baby, there might be some exceptions, GPU species are a vast group of GPU, it can't cover all cases.
