This work (cited by bovoviz on the Rosetta forum) by Dr. David Baker and scientists at the Institute of Protein Design (IPD) show the computational design of diverse permeable macrocycles.

It has led to the founding of a new company for that purpose.

As for Folding, this type of work seems most closely related to the work of Prof. Voelz on the peptides and mini-proteins.
To give one example: https://stats.foldingathome.org/project/18410

Maybe someone here who knows more about it can comment on any relationship.

The Bowman lab is also working on developing new proteins: https://bowmanlab.seas.upenn.edu/

Very good. I see a lot of potential overlap, and more importantly synergistic effects where one technique can aid the other.
Folding is at a great stage of its development. I have never seen such interesting stuff.
