AMD RX6000+ family GPU owners, please update to 22.7.1 drivers for optimal F@H performance

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though AMD has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

You can post the first 100 lines of the log, and we will see enough to help.

A Windows system restart causes an unwanted GPU client to restart and be assigned a work unit despite continual removal of the Slot 1 GPU client using FAHControl.

I have as tenable a solution as any I've seen if you don't want another client (in my case, a Slot 1 GPU client) to start. I set C:\ProgramData\FAHClient\config.xml to read only.
Edit(s) before making read only:

Code: Select all

<gpu value="false"/>
Don't edit your log(s). F@HClient will clean it for you when the unit expires.

Is <gpu value="true"/> in your config.xml file? If Windows, the path is C:\ProgramData\FAHClient\config.xml. :idea:

Latest 6800XT and this old driver both cause my 6800Xt to run at 80-90% usage instead of 95-99

If i run boinc or any cpu task even on just 7 core of my 13900k it drop to 30-50% usage.

Anyone as an idea what wrong with amd?

Welcome to Folding@Home!

While you will get better help if you start your own thread, rather than ask in an old announcement, the major reason no one can help is not knowing your setup.

If you post the first 100 lines or so of you log, it will list your hardware and software setup. Since the instructions vary by your choices look at items 6bto 8 in this link.

A well titled thread with that info has the best chance for a quick answer!
