I believe there is no more 18027 left, so if anyone wants to switch back to COVID cause, they can safely do that. Hopefully there is something bigger coming soon :)

This project singlehandenly destroyed my passkey bonus. I wasn't able to acces my folding machine and I got about 30 of these. They folded fine on my GT 730, but my Vega 11 didn't finish a single one. Is there a way to reset the passkey bonus?

Bonus will be restored after you get above 80% success rate again.

You can check your passkey status here : https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus

It's a pretty poor show to put out a project which the researchers know fail on certain species of GPU, watch them fail and then to tell those folders to just suck it up.

There is a new project in the works, that should put everything back into its place ;) Just keep COVID preference on.
Also, new sprint just gone live, I believe

Just a thought, it might be easier and quicker to request a new passkey.

New passkey will start total point count from zero on your username, and it will also require 10 completed WUs for bonus to activate

Compared to the 120 good work units (including those already completed) required to counter the 30 failed work units, for some that might be the better option.

It is still pretty reckless of a researcher to put out a project that is known to fail on a specific species of GPU and to not do anything to mitigate it.

In my 16 years of contribution I have 10x more failed WUs on my name than majority of contributors in this project will ever have of good completed WUs in their entire contribution period.

There is absolutely no difference to the science if you are folding with 10 different or no pass keys. Returned results do not change because of the passkey. The only thing changes is donors satisfaction and care levels.
getting new passkey will not remove failed WUs from existence, and it will not help people who lost their bonus eligibility. new pass key is exactly the same as old passkey in regards to regaining bonus eligibility, except new passkey also wipes your previous point totals from your username. I take it people are upset about bonus loss because they care about points, so total point loss would be a complete disaster to those people, instead of temporary bonus loss, which can easily be restored with 10 completed WUs.

Researchers have their own agendas on doing things they are doing. Sometimes failed science is good science. Researcher, who accepts WU failures in their projects are causing delays to their own work.
To be clear: in this instance, researcher has been made aware of this, and we are hoping this will not (deliberately) happen in the future.

Thank you for your 16 years.

Are you still a beta-tester? I feel your comment on the higher WU fails is unwarranted, it comes with the territory.

You have a different outlook of FAH to someone just starting out.
I agree that the points don't matter as long as the science gets done. I got to that point some time ago.

To be honest, I joined on the back of covid and it's never really been about the points but they are a good yard stick to how my system is performing.
At this point you/we should be trying to encourage the next generation to come in, take the reins and continue for the next 16 years.
I don't think nuking them just out of the gate is exactly a good way to encourage them to stay, donate their compute resources and get to a point where failed WUs are just accepted.

Again, I would like to be clear, this happens once in a blue moon, and most of the time is prevented before public release. This is extreme exception and not the rule around here. I believe set project was very small and had super limited run.
Even though we try to prevent such things from happening, they still happen once in a while. Hopefully we won't have such cases in the future.

I know it seems like a droplet in a sea for somebody who has been folding for 16 years. I have discovered FaH just a half a year ago and I liked looking at my numbers going up. I know it's just a number but still.
The thing I would like to do is to reset the progress, so I could start with same name and passkey from the 0 again and didn't have to do about 100 WU (that's for me like month and a half non-stop folding) just to offset this mistake.

New passkey would reset your points to 0. However that looks to be a hammer solution for very small issue. What if you encounter couple more failed WUs? No one ever stays with flawless completion rates.

Have you used the link provided to you to check your bonus status? - https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus

If you are way under 80% then the quickest way to get back to receiving the bonus is going to be by getting a new passkey. Use a different username or email address when you apply for one, you can still use the same username in the client with the new passkey as they are not otherwise linked. Once you have completed 10 Was you will get the QRB again.

The Web Control display of points is based on both username and passkey entered into the client. So it will just display points credited to that pairing. But you can look up your points by username or by username and team, and all points will be shown.
