This is a question about using gpu.

Hello.

I am a World Community Grid participant.

This time, I was introduced to Folding@home and participated.

But I have one question.

Currently, World Community Grid does not support the use of gpu, or if it does, it is very limited.

I want to participate in World Community Grid with cpu and only gpu for Folding@home.

From Folding@home

How can I use only the gpu?

I am only interested in the COVID-19 project.

Welcome to the forums ... It is perfectly possible to set up gpu only folding however cause preferences such as covid are just that, preferences, and it is not possible to only do one cause ... if there are no work units for the cause selected then your kit would be allocated something else ... if you are only interested in supporting fah for covid that is not possible - sorry.

Yes, open Advanced Control and remove the CPU slot. And set your BOINC client to leave two CPU threads free to let FAH feed the GPU efficiently.

Hi "user"

"User Avatar" is not actually a username, it is the name of a placeholder for an image which has failed to render. Not everyone has set an avatar. That user's username is actually "toTOW".

Aside from that, I'm happy to see you've successful setup your computer, happy folding. :D

As you can imagine, the Graphics Card has no internet, no disk, and to get such access must use the CPU.

To get Work Units, the CPU must handle all I/O for the Graphics Card. How much CPU is used, varies by vendor.

My avatar should be loading, unless you can't access my web server ...

I can access your server but can't see your user avatar :(

I can see your personal website, I can see you avatar if that's all I'm asking for in the address bar.

The forums are SSL secured, your avatar is not.
I think it's likely the clients are refusing to render it because it's a non-SSL secured image in an SSL website.

Yes maybe ... it's still working perfectly fine on my Firefox, and my server is not likely to receive HTTPS, it's too complex for nothing
