Hi folks;

The new core download is roughly 166 meg in size. No problem for most, but with satellite internet and limited bandwidth downloading it 4 times takes up more than 1 days average allowance. My question is can I copy the folder to my other windows machines and save downloading multiple times? Thanks.

My question is whether anyone is seeing unusually slow folding today?

I'm seeing the following error:

Code: Select all

17:47:25:WU00:FS01:0x22:Attempting to create CUDA context:
17:47:25:WU00:FS01:0x22: Configuring platform CUDA
17:47:26:WU00:FS01:0x22:Failed to create CUDA context:
17:47:26:WU00:FS01:0x22:Error loading CUDA module: CUDA_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_PTX_VERSION (222)
means the GPU are falling back to using OpenCL.

That means you'll have to update your drivers. Best is to use the lastest game-ready drivers. See viewtopic.php?f=24&t=37391 - especially since they now released 22-0.0.18, being rolled out for all GPU jobs

I think so, you can at least try. The folder you'll need to copy is C:\ProgramData\FAHClient\cores\cores.foldingathome.org\win\64bit\22-0.0.18. You may have to have the fah client stopped first.

Hmm, on Mint 18 for this folding rig. Only seems to allow upgrade to Nvidia-430 which is very old. Done that but getting BAD UNIT on every unit.

Do I have to upgrade my OS?

Looking at http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L ... ments.html (release notes for nVidia 470 drivers), I woud not expect so. But you may have to download the drivers directly from nVidia (https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverR ... 3575/en-us)

Oh, be sure to reboot after upgradind the driver...

Yes, you can.

I keep a backup of all the cores so I can dump them into a new FAH installation. I have used it a number of times.

look into nvidia-smi
it's part of the geforce driver
I've used it in the past to lower the power limit of my cards
it has lots of other options, I cannot remember if it can set/alter clock speeds
it does need to be ran with root privileges
