I just looked at the LAR system site, and though the sample size was small they were getting about 57K PPD. Being that other stuff just as slow is still folding, I wonder why support was dropped? Granted with the small sample size they might be beta or test work units expected to deliver at least 100K PPD, but it's still enough to make you wonder what happened.

And great insightful info from both toTOW and aetch on how the species designations are made. I've just accepted that it is what it is, and never seen it explained as to how it's done.
Fold them if you get them!

Code: Select all

0x8086:0x9a49:0:0:TGL GT2 [Iris(R) Iris Xe Graphics]
A quick breakdown:-
0x8086 - vendor ID, in this case Intel
0x9a49 - Product ID
0:0 - this is a FAH designation for manufacturer and species. Manufacturer Index [AMD = 1, NVidia = 2, Intel = 3]. Species [A range of 1-8]. Both being "0" basically means FAH has deemed the card unsuitable for folding.
TGL GT2 [Iris(R) Iris Xe Graphics] - GPU description

My guess is that the card has been tested, you might have been one of the guinea pigs, it was found unsuitable and the card was disabled.

Guess what ?!?! I just messed with with the "0:0" and switched to 3:1, F@H recognized the card and is folding normally. Thanks for your help!

You should not be editing the GPU.txt file.
FAH set the card "0:0" for a reason, mainly that your card does not meet the requirements to fold.

It sounds like FAH might need to do something on the back-end servers to ensure your card does not receive work units.

my issue was not about the card not folding, but F@H not detecting the card at launch.

It seems to me that F@H was simply not reading card indexes correctly... As soon as it detected the card, folding job were issued (as it should, since there are beta jobs for intel GPU)

Unless the GPUs.txt change was made in error, it was correctly detected as a card which shouldn't fold. I suggest you delete your GPUs.txt file and have the client re-download it. "Hacking" the GPUs.txt file yourself isn't allowed - that is left to the developers to mess with.

See the first line of the file:

Code: Select all

0x1002:0x0000:::[NOTE Editing the local copy of this file will lead to a FAH error.]
Often that FAH error will result in a folding slot that says it is a GPU slot, but it will actually be processing CPU projects on the CPU folding core and not use the GPU at all. You can post your log here or look yourself to see what the client is actually doing.

Edit: If you are the one folding with username Wagner_Dalcin, then all recent WUs listed as returned are from CPU projects. No WUs from GPU projects are shown at all. In addition it looks like during a recent reinstall you left out your team number and passkey.

Unless someone from FAH says different I don't believe there are beta jobs for Intel.
I'm interested to see what you're actually getting.
I have a couple of these

Code: Select all

0x8086:0x5912:3:1:KBL GT2 [HD Graphics 630]
Over the last few months I have enabled mine only for it to sit idle for days on end without ever receiving a job, including while this conversation was going on.

Can you post logs, this is what mine looks like

Code: Select all
