Just to say...

Although a bit slow (at least with JavaScript enabled), it's working fine. I like phpBB very much.

P.S. I'm a newbie here but I'm running f@a for years now. I'll take some time to explore the forums and try to learn as much as I can from you all.

A quick reply ... good :)

But it seems to have a bad name here : { QUICK_REPLY } ... it doesn't interpret the language variable well :roll:

That's because there isn't one yet ;) If you could give me the correct translation of "Quick reply" I'll add it in.

Or, if you aren't one of the 4 members that use the subsilver theme ( ;) ), click on their avatar or username.
Thanks for the quick reply feature as well as the configuration field in the profile. I have sigs disabled so the profile thingy is really neat for me. And yeah, I use subsilver ;)

Post edit's not showing up?

Post by MtM »

Noticed this last night but thought it was me. Checked again today, had to edit a post anyway, but it indeed doesn't show a 'last edit time'.

I really like this feature as it prevents people from going back and changing posts after repleis been posted, so it should be pretty high up the ranks of things to get back into order imo ;)

Sorry should have used this thread instead of the one I started a few minutes ago. Post edits aren't not showing up on the forum I see, I don't like giving trolls the opportunity to edit posts after repleis have been posted and then claim they didn't ;)

Post edits do get recorded *after* a new reply has been posted in that topic. For example, if you edit the post above it should should record the time of edit.

Edited before anyone replied: There should be no timestamp here.

I think that I have found a minor issue with the recent upgrade:
If the thread title is too long, it will show it in the preview but once posted, it drops the extra characters. Example:
Before recent upgrade -> viewtopic.php?p=159560#p159560
After recent upgrade -> viewtopic.php?p=161734#p161734

And I also have captured a screenshot in case the difference isn't apparent:
Preview -> Image

Post -> Image

BTW, I hope this is the correct Thread to post this issue since the last post was posted way back on Dec 19, 2008.

Is there a specific list of the subset of the full BB Code List that regular (ie non-Administrator) users have available? Is it in the link http://foldingforum.org/faq.php?mode=bbcode that is to the right of the editing window in "BBCode is ON"?

The reason I ask is that in a recent post, I wanted to say this:

Code: Select all

You should have put the [noparse][code]
[/noparse] tags around the log file extract.[/code]

But outside of the code block, it comes out like this:
You should have put the [noparse][/noparse] tags around the log file extract.

So I had to say this instead:
You should have put the 'code' and '/code' tags around the log file extract.

As far as I know, phpBB does not support the (noparse) tag. It's not shown on the page you referenced. I've always resorted to trickery when I wanted to use a combination of active and unparsed tags in the same post.

After doing a "Test out user's permissions" there is a "restore permissions" but it's not clear if that works the first time or the second time you do it. The link doesn't always go away like it did in earlier versions.

A MoveTopic can leave a shadow topic. A MergeTopic needs to have the same ability to create a shadow topic while managing the names of both topics.
