Hello, I've been doing F@H for a few months on my GPU now with no problems, during the day while I work from home. Yesterday I noticed a work unit that had no progress. I could see from the GPU temp the process is working.

It said bad work unit but i thought it would just return that and get another. I tried to refresh it by removing the slot, but this morning I have the same problem.

I noticed on the log for yesterday it unpacked new stuff to the cores folder, and it's since then I've had a problem. I can't seem to fix it. What should I do? Thanks for your help.

Suggestion: You might have gotten the beta version of the folding core. Try stopping the FAH client completely, deleting contents of the cores folder, and re-starting FAH.

Everything in the 64bit folder (i.e. v 22-0.0.13)? Or literally everything on the cores folder?

There are a couple of V0.0.13 problems where FAH-CUDA may oonflict with an installation of the CUDA toolkit. These have been reported. It should ignore the SDK and/or fallback to OpenCL. I predict 0.0.14 will arrive soon.

I deleted the contents of the 64 bit folder, and it reloaded the files.

It didn't help. Log below. Regarding the problem I have, I can't do anything until 0.0.14 arrives?

Workaround could be to install cuda toolkit sdk from nvidia website. That disables FAHcore CUDA and fall back to OpenCL. viewtopic.php?f=80&t=36167

When FahCore fix is released then you need to uninstall cuda toolkit sdk again

Thought, you're still running client 7.5.1, maybe try upgrading to the latest (7.6.13).

Can you please:
1) Confirm that you haven't installed CUDA toolkit on your system.
2) Ensure that you have updated your Nvidia Driver from 451.67 to 456.55 (https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverR ... 4741/en-us) you may want to select a clean installation if you're happy with resetting all settings to the default.
3) Verify that CUDA and OpenCL is functional by using GPU-Z.

In theory, if CUDA fails, it should automatically fall back to OpenCL on virtually all Nvidia GPUs.

I don't know what the CUDA toolkit is, so I don't think I've installed it.
I've updated the driver to the new one.
There is a tick in CUDA and OpenCL in GPU-Z.

Should I just upgrade to the new one and see if it helps?

You can upgrade your client to V7.6.13 (while it might not have any impact, it might be worth it) and then update your Nvidia driver to the latest version and then see what happens

I upgraded to the new one. I already have the latest Nvidia driver. It didn't work so I deleted the core again. It still won't progress

Do I have to wait until 0.0.14 arrives?

did you get the driver from nvidia? ... someone has posted that they had issues with the driver from a repo but when they got from nvidia it worked

Yeah it was from Nvidia. Maybe if I remove everything, delete completely and install again rather than upgrade.

FAH cannot use incompatible versions of the CUDA library in V0.0.13. It's an unresolved (but "known") problem. Using OpenCL a (temporary) workaround. You can use extra-core-args=--disable-cuda on that slot.

Can you try what happens when you run the core in standalone mode?

1. Navigate to the folder D:\Folding\data\cores/cores.foldingathome.org/win/64bit/22-0.0.13/Core_22.fah
2. In the location bar, type cmd
3. In the command prompt, type FahCore_22.exe -info
4. Report the output here.

I will try installing the client under D:\Folding\FAHClient and use the data directory as D:\Folding\data over the weekend to see if I can replicate this.
