Nexus 5x Android 6.0.1 not supported?

Post by MarkyMark7 »

I just got a Nexus 5x from Google and the Google Play store says it is not compatible with the FAH android app. Here is part of my hardware listing:

My Samsung SIII is supported; it has a 2 core processor, so I'm hoping to be able to use the Nexus to help out. Let me know if you need the Android hardware or software dump.

Thanks!

The Nexus 5 is supported. The 5x is still on Sony's future plans.

The 5x is a little odd, it has 4 of one style CPU and two of another style, runing at different speeds. That may be hard to synchronize.

Quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 & dual-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57

Thanks Bruce and Jimbo for the info. I hope they do eventually support it. That is interesting about the combination processors. At any rate, at least I'll be able to leave my Samsung SIII running all day now instead of just at night as long as I keep the flaky power cable is securely fastened.

As I understand ARMs philosophy, they want to run compute bound jobs on the A57s and run interrupt bound jobs on the A53s.
As I understand PG's philosophy, they want all your CPU power.

If I were designing from scratch, (and no one is) I would run one dual-CPU WU on the A57's independent of the A53's which could run another quad core WU.
