Project: 6900 (Run 32, Clone 17, Gen 21) No Credit?

Good evening, and I hope that this finds everyone doing well....

Well, I thought I was doing quite well with the Big Advance Work Units myself until today, that is, when something
happened that maybe shouldn't have happened. So here's the deal...it's confusing enough so please bear with me as
I do my best, darned best to explain the situation completely, and where it is today, right now.

I first downloaded this WU above, Project 6900 (Run 32, Clone 17, Gen 21) on the 22nd of January, and proceeded to go about
folding it normally but I had a complete freak-out computer glitch late Sunday night, and had to shut it down for about
3 hours fixing the machine (sound card went bonkers, no sound at all, had to R&R the sound card and determine that
it was in fact broken, history, gone, then hook up the onboard EVGA Classified motherboard's sound, download the RealTek
Drivers for the system, etc...all of this taking roughly about 3 hours out of the folding schedule..at 12AM last night no less)...

OK, so machine fixed early in the AM today and when I re-queued the WUnit up it came all right, with the 85% done just as
sure as shootin' goes, and everything is fine, right? Well, almost all right...the WU finished this AM at about 10:20 something
or other, about then, the WU got reported to the Stanford servers successfully apparently, and then here's what happened...

It downloads the Work Unit AGAIN! Which I didn't notice until this evening when I was checking my 3 folding machines, as I
normally do each evening about 7-8PM... Next I looked back at the day's production and on top of downloading the same WU
again today at 10:40AM-something, it appears that I did NOT get credit for it today, that's right...When it reported the WU
finished to the Stanford servers at about 10:20-something today, finished reporting about 10:42AM today, then it downloads
the WU AGAIN, and it's now working on the same work unit all over again, and I didn't get any credit for it today at all,

Go Figure THAT out!

So that's where I stand with my head in my hands tonight, and I don't know whether to take this WU out of my Client and let it
try and downlaod something else, or whether I should let it continue to work on this WU Project 6900, (Run 32, Clone 17, Gen 26),
all over again and try and see if I get complete credit for it THIS TIME? :? :?:

What should I do about this WU, that is apparently HAUNTING me right now; I can't get rid of it, I am doing it for the 2nd time right
now as I write these words down to the Forum, and finally, I didn't get any credit for it today AT ALL! I may have gotten partial credit
for it at the 3PM Stanford update, but I can't be sure about it, because I wasn't there to watch it report, and there seems to be an
odd-ball total reporting for my name at EVGA Folding, but since I am not Stanford I cannot tell about this whole deal for sure right now!

Can some nice person in Admin please look this situation up in the annals of Stanford Folding, and see why I didn't get any credit for
completing this WU today sometime, at some point? And further, can some nice Admin here please tell me whether I should let the WU
continue to be processed YET AGAIN tonight, or should I end its domain here in my Client and try and get something else going?

That would be ever so nice of some nice Admin, it would really be appreciated!!! I have no idea WHAT TO DO, so I am leaving things as
they are right now until this situation is figured out, hopefully for my best interests in terms of getting the score tallied in my behalf for
this WU, at least that... Thank you very much!

Please advice, and here's all the data on the Log Files for this WU beginning at the 22nd when it downloaded it up to now, when it has apparently
gotten the SAME Work Unit again today at about 10:42AM PST, and it continues to work on it as I write these nice words down..

PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT, some nice Admin person, thank you very much!!

First the original download and processing up to when I had the difficulty with my computer, at about 12:43AM PST Monday morning (today)...

THAT's the whole deal, and remember, I did NOT GET CREDIT for this WU today, as far as I can tell anyway, nothing BIG
in my points today at Extremeoverclocking.com anyway, nor in my point total for the aggregate total at Stanford.edu Folding
so what to do, where to go, and/or should I let this thing continue unabated until it finishes it yet again? :?:  :?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP, nice Admin person, whomever you may be about this, because as of now I don't have any credit for the
WU, and it continues to be in my Client's cue for work and it's right now working merrily on it all over again... Nice, huh?

FYI, you have to use the Code Tag, not the List. Also, why isn't there any termination message at 85% when you exited the Client? Now regarding the re-downloading, this could be a very rare scenario:

Folder A was assigned Project: 6900 (Run 32, Clone 17, Gen 21) but it gave an error. WS now has at least two copies of it. You were assigned the first copy, you finished it and uploaded it (not sure why you didn't get points). When requested for another bigadv, you happen to get the second also.

It could also be a temporary glitch in the Servers. Hopefully, you will be assigned points if you folded the WU twice and didn't modify the files or anything since you can't control the assigned WU.

Hi rexrzer (team 111065),
Your WU (P6900 R32 C17 G21) was added to the stats database on 2011-01-24 11:06:33 for 8955 points of credit.

Uploaded [January 24 18:41 UTC] and credited 25 minutes later (Stanford DB reports in PST).

I don't see a second copy that has uploaded, so I can't confirm PantherX's speculation, but if it were me, I'd dump that WU and go on to something else since you now have a confirmation that it has been successfully completed.

Topic moved to forum for problems with individual WUs.

Thanks so much for checking up on that Bruce, it's appreciated...

However, the credits are about 65,000+ points short! ZOWIE!!  :?

My CPU worked for almost 54 hours straight on that WU and I have never been awarded 8955 points for a 6900-based WU yet, and it was completed
within 61% of the deadline, which is about right for a 74,000+/- Point Award for that Work Unit. Could you please go one step further and help
me get the correct score for that WU? Something isn't right there, honestly if that 8955 points is what Stanford awarded me for that WU...that
is not right at all.  :?:

I have been averaging better than 75K per 6900-series WU thus far, some as high as 78.5K, some as low as 72K, but never, ever got less than 10K for one of those WU's!! :eugeek:

I would really appreciate a little assistance on that score because it's all wrong if they gave me 8955 points with 61% of the completion time left.

Thanks so much for doing that, it was appreciated. :)

Once submitted, stanford does not adjust points. Standard policy, sorry.

8955 is the base points. For whatever reason, bonus points were not awarded, and per the bonus policy, are never guaranteed. Doubly sorry, but the points awarded for that WU won't change.

At best, we could try to figure out why that happened, to help prevent it from happening again.

That truly SUCKS Rotten Tomatoes 7im! :x

Sorry to say! :( :!: :!: :!:  :eo

I didn't do anything *wrong* in that particular WU, and on top of that it occupied my PC Client for not one,
but TWO+ More sessions until I terminated it, threw away the Core file, the Unit Info File, the Queue File, and the
Work File, and then it tried to download itself AGAIN into that Client, so I had to shut that Client down 100%
for now, and construct a 2nd Client on that PC, program it 100% to be for my Team, moniker rexrzer, and
the right Preferences so I could get more Big Advanced Work Units...in short that WU cost me more than 3 days work time
on that particular PC Client, LOADS OF TROUBLE, and it gave me 8955 points to boot!   :o :?

Like I wrote, THAT SUCKS BIG EGGS AND TOMATOES 10,000% over and over again, and you nice people at Stanford
should figure out WHY that happened, and get Work Units like that OUT OF THE SYSTEM 100%, or don't assign them
in the 1st place, either one is advisable and prudent so that others won't get screwed like I just did with that particular
Big Advanced WU! :!: :!:

There is no point to doing this assignment without bonuses, and when there are no bonuses it is a losing proposition for
the Users, Stanford.edu, Stanford Folding et al, the whole ball of wax becomes a meaningless, negative experience for the
whole crew, and I don't like being the guinea pig that got the Rotten Tomato Thing assigned to MY PC Client at all, not one little bit
thank you very much!  :o :?

Don't apologize to me, please, but take some affirmative action to prevent this from ever, ever happening again to any of
us, not just me, but the whole lot of Folders who are doing this voluntary program, the "Experimental Program" for the Pande Group
and Stanford Folding et al, as we don't have to be doing it you know that? We could be doing the relatively safe and sane regular
Folding assignments and take our measly 3000-5000 Points per WU and be happy with that, and go on relatively happy and satisfied
with being part of the Folding Community overall...but when this sort of thing happens it leave a big old SOUR TASTE in the mouth
unlike anything I've yet to experience here. :o :eo :e( :e?:

I repeat, THAT EXPERIENCE WAS A DRAG! It took my PC Client almost 3.5 Days to figure out it was a BAD THANG to be having in the
machine in the 1st place, and then it self-assigns itself to me over and over again for what reason? Because it was flawed somehow?
I THINK SO!! More than flawed, I think! :e?: :( :( :?

Well I'll tell you what it's done, it's pissed me off a BUNCH and I don't mind voicing that here in the least, and I'll be happy to write Dr. Pande
and Dr. Whomever a nice, big, fat, email PM about this whole deal if none of you Admins are willing to do anything about what happened
in this case, just in case you are going to sweep this dirty little episode UNDER THE CARPET once again and let it be, just don't do
a DANG THING about it as has happened before with BAD THANGS being assigned to innocent Folders here at Stanford.edu et al, the Stanford
Folding Project et al, and it's been myself who was the recipient of that BAD THANG a couple short months ago, and lo and behold I get
this BAD THANG assigned to my PC Client too...now I am not being pararnoid at all about it when I say to everyone here: "Wouldn't you
be upset about it if something like this BAD THANG got assigned to YOUR PC Client!???"   :!:

What a Crock This thing was!! If I put that PC Client back online right now I'll betcha Stanford Folding would still assign that same BAD THANG to
my Client and take up where it left off last night! I'll just betcha that this is the case...! I don't think that the statement by 7im is very appropriate
considering what happened to my Client, and HOW it happened, and WHY it happened!! I'd like a bit more of an investigative approach to the whole
deal happening if you don't mind! Thank you very much! :egeek: :egeek: :e?: :e( :!: :!:

I am almost done venting my anger and frustration now, and rest assured I have PLENTY OF IT...my Lordie! What a Crock! I don't want to
hear about Stanford "Policy" on assigning "Bonus Points" to these Big Advanced Work Units! I don't want to read about nothing happening about
finding out WHY and HOW such a thing could/would happen here! I'd like to get first hand knowledge about what happened because it was my PC
and my Client that got screwed out of all those bonus points for this WU, and for everything that happened around it being assigned over and over again
to the Client, causing me undue problems that just didn't have to be happening, you reading me loud and clear 7im and any other Admin reading this
commentary? I sure hope so!!  :!: :!:

I didn't deserve this, and if it happened to somebody else they wouldn't appreciate or respect it either, not to mention being upset a little bit perhaps!
Finished Now!      :!:
