Project: 10006 (Run 275, Clone 5, Gen 9) [protomol restart]

Hello,

About a week ago or so, I had the 10006 job die (that's after 'gracefully') shutting down FAH before doing a Windows XP Pro restart. Did this around 0542Z. FAH had trouble finding this job around 0551Z and deleted it after a few minutes. After reading others with similar problems, decided to post what occurred here. I have -advmethods selected as the option for the 'classic' FAH 6.23 client. Below is from the FAHlog file.

Lastly, a question about the points awarded for the 10000 series; they seem too low -- or is my 4 year old AMD X2 4200 beginning to show its age? Would the same process/job work better with Linux or Intel type processor?? I am thinking about going GPU and/or a newer machine in a year or so.?

Thanks,
Robby -- Team Firefox

Some new projects were announced yesterday. Part of that announcement mentioned a problem with the v23 ProtoMol core preserving work from a shutdown/restart. Until it's fixed, you can either remove -advmethods or you can wait for a more opportune time to restart.

Hi bruce,

Thanks for a quick answer. The -advmethods option otherwise works fine, especially in getting the older Amber 4600 series jobs.

Am still curious on the points for the 10000 series. It takes this machine a day or more to complete just one at 126 or so points per run.
