I suspect the stats server may automagically fix itself when 155.247.166.219/220 come back on stream- it may be choking on the response it gets from them!

Except they just fixed the OS STATS page reporting so that blows your "as usual" theory completely out of the water and in to completely unrecognizable dust.

I suppose those of us at Folding@EVGA need to apologize. We're kicking off our first folding contest in about a year in 3 days - Looks like Murphy decided it was time to lay down his law . . .

We're looking into this. The system is designed to be robust, so the science and the points continue to accumulate, even if they're not updated on the web site.

We appear to be back in business folks :D

The times look a bit odd, but the important numbers are going up!

Just got confirmation from my stats collection system that we do indeed have increases.

Every time Ive seen the stats go down in the past the WU's that were not instantly updating always catch up and are counted when stats go back up. Joe H's post seems to confirm the WU's are waiting to be put into stats server.

Keep folding Im sure you will get your points ;) Im just got my 2nd powerhouse pc hooked up and both of my machines are folding away ( although im having an unrelated issue all of a sudden with running 2 cards at the same time on my main pc... totally unrelated issue though). Im looking for a spot to set up my 3rd machine that has only 1x 7850 but Im running out of room to put them :/

Currently folding one r9 280x, 1x 7850, and 1 x GTX 780 ( about to remount the 2nd GTX 780 to see if they play better)

Edit - I cant remember my exact score but
Date of last
work unit 2014-04-17 13:03:17

from official stats page so its getting our WU's.

2nd edit - I just took another look and my points have indeed increased, not by the full amount I think though, hopefully everything will be running smooth again soon and all the WU's will be credited.

Yes, it's extremely rare that WUs/points go missing permanently- I've only had it happen once in over 3,600 WUs. (That was a hardware problem, not much that can be done about that.)

It's a pretty robust system.

The main trouble with an outage like this one is the merry hell it can play with the 3rd party stats until it drops out of the averaging periods!

Yes the stats server is working again, but there is a bunch of points missing. Our team normally does 2.4 million PPD and only received 600K in the up date. I average 800k and only received 36K in the update. Server was down over 24 hours, so like I said a bunch of points are missing.....

So here is hoping for a huge catch up update!

Not really- as 7im said here
7im wrote:Sorry to say, but the fine print on the Points FAQ bonus section clearly states that bonuses are never guaranteed. PG makes every effort to make sure bonuses are tracked and awarded, by having collection servers and other redundancies, but sometimes you get what you get.
it's the QRB that's missing because of the other server failure and QRB isn't guaranteed.

Everyone affected will have lost QRB in a broadly similar proportion.

It can take a few hours to work through a stats backlog, so I would suggest checking again after at least a couple more updates of the EOC site or other third party stats sites. I do know when I looked earlier this morning that there were over 100K WU's waiting to be entered onto the stats server from the various work and collection servers. As for the QRB's, except for the server that was not accepting returns, the points are calculated on when WU's were returned to their WS or CS and not when they are entered into the stats. So the usual QRB points should be seen.

I get the feeling that the stats catch up very quickly these days, much faster than when I first started… but it's certainly a valid point.
