I noticed this project yesterday, running at less half the speed of a normal 2669. I stopped it and checked to make sure I didn't have another problem and restarted. A while ago I started looking more closley and noticed that it has 496864 steps instead of 250000 as is normal.
I noticed several other entries here about oddball 2669's so I stopped it, wiped /work and queue.dat and restarted,,, only to get the same one back.

So, before I do any more handywork I thought I'd better check and see if this is legit or not.

I can't say if 250000 steps is normal for this project, but for a variety projects there is no standard number of steps. One project may have more atoms than another. One project may have more steps than another. One project may upload/download more data that another.

496864 is a strange number, though. I would have expected 500000 (or maybe 499999) Here's another WU from that project that has 380000 steps. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=9596

and one with 8749999 steps viewtopic.php?f=19&t=8583

Clearly something is very strange. I'll notify the person responsible for this project.

The p2669's I've folded have all had 250,000 steps. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=9596

In that same thread AgrFan points out that when he has gotten a WU with a non-standard number of steps, the unitinfo.txt file is the wrong size, several Mb or tens of Mb rather than its typical 4 Kb.

Would you kindly check the unitinfo.txt file size for us? Thanks.
(Don't know where it's located? For Linux users, just do a typical file search from your console or desktop. Windows users: include hidden files. OSX users: if File... find doesn't work, open a new Finder window, go "Home", select Library, then type unitinfo in the searchbar at the top of the window.)

The Pande Group is aware of this problem and are working on a fix. I can't predict when that might happen.
