AMD 7900x - How to Monitor iGPU Usage?

Post by war59312 »

Hi,

Now that Foding@Home supports the AMD 7000 series iGPU.. Sweet! TY

How can I monitor its usage? Both Task Manager and Process Explorer show nada.

I know it's working; I'm up to 73% on the first folding.

Best,

Will

In Windows, I would use the sensor tab of GPU-Z.

You might prefer MSI afterburner, but then you might be tempted to tweak something.

The default views in Task Manager for GPUs show the stats related to video rendering for the screen. You can change that in Task Manager from a pull down menu for a graphical display. One of the Compute items should show GPU utilization by F@h.

I'm interested to know how the iGPU folds on that CPU. AMD keeps changing things up on their lines, and in this case it's great at some things and not as good as older iGPUs at others. I'm not sure where folding falls into the mix, but if it folds, it folds.

As far as the monitoring, what exactly are you trying to monitor? The GPU is either on or off, so if it's folding it's folding. You can track performance on differing projects and work units using HFM if you want. If you want to just make sure it's running, as long as there is progress on the progress bar it's running.
Fold them if you get them!

Perfect, thank you. Set to "Compute 1" and now see it being used as expected, at 100%. :)

Using https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... nicbgfahoe shows indeed it is very week.

ATM reporting 65.30% below the average for the BioFilm Research.

WU AVG PPD of 27,292.
