Running multiple projects on one gpu

Post by FlorianKoenigstorfer »

Hello everyone,

I have been running Folding@Home for a while now. I noticed that one F@H instance usually uses only 20-25% of my GPU resources. Is there any way to assign multiple projects to a single GPU?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Florian.

Welcome to the folding support forum.

Currently there is no supported way of assigning more than one project to a GPU.

However, how are you determining that only 20-25% of your GPU is being used? If you are using Windows Task Manager the default views do not show GPU computational utilization. You have to change to one of the alternate usage displays, which one depends on your Windows version and your GPU. Or you can use an utility like GPU-Z.

Hi,

Thank you for your quick response!
I didn't know about software such as GPU-Z up until now. Thanks for telling me about that! Looks like I am iindeed using quite a bit more than the 20% that I mentioned earlier. Thanks for that!

Best,
Florian.

Yes, the default displays for GPU in Windows Task Manager show the utilization of the GPU for displaying video. The computations on the GPU are using different sections of the card.
