What GPU drivers are you running and what GPU are you using. (See below)

Third attempt at posting something meaningful:

Hello everyone,

I installed the 7.6.21 client and FAH control in order to use my intel integrated GPU. MY CPU is an I3 9100 so it should qualify. My OS is Xubuntu 20.04. My Kernel is 5.4

I copy pasted the instructions provided in this link: (Stupid anti URL)
apt install intel-opencl-icd ; sudo usermod -a -G render $LOGNAME ; apt install ocl-icd-opencl-dev
Replacing $LOGNAME by my real logname of course. The GPU seems to be detected but "disabled"

I have two folding slots: a CPU (0) working fine and a GPU (1) Whose status is "disabled" its description is gpu:0:2 CFL GT2 [UHD Graphics 630]

Here is a more complete logfile:

I'm mostly a Windows guy but I've done enough Linux to have some idea what you're seeing.... and the stuff inside of FAH is the same on both platforms.

It looks like you've got the right drivers installed, and I'm going to recommend you reboot (sorry... that's my Windows experience talking and it never hurts in Linux :)) FAH reconfigures it's GPUs when it restarts ... and only after the OpenCL drivers are working.

Is your monitor running through you Intel or through your other GPU?

I'm moving to a new house and I only have two of my simplest WIndows systems running and the Linux system doesn't have an iGPU so I have no first-hand experience yet. I'll have more Linux experience in another week. Somebody else may step in any time....

My laptop has a Gen7 iGPU so it's not supported.

Thank you for your attention. I rebooted to no avail.

Strangely, FAH reduced the number of CPU cores like if it intended to use one for the GPU WU's. Like it does on my other machine with a NVIDIA card.So It knows it's there and supposed to be used.

Another strange thing is when i tried to post my original post, i got tried to post it again after editing then completely removing the URL but it did not work. Hence my stupid first post.

Thank you again for your attention anyway. I guess this is a new option and still needs to be ironed out. :)

Oh, and i forgot to mention the monitor runs through the intel iGPU. This machine has no discrete GPU.

On my other machine it doesn't seem to cause trouble, the monitor is attached to the nvidia card and runs FAH on the NVIDIA card

Yes, Intel iGPUs is a very new option and on a site like this run by volunteers, I depend heavily on reports from others except when I can test things myself. I recommend ignoring that option for a day or two (at least) until people figure out what works and what doesn't.

It seems like the reboot might have fixed this problem ... as you're now talking in complete sentences. Are you still getting error messages and if so, what do they say?

Just for info, i augmented my shared memory for the iGPU to 1024 Mb and it did not change anything so it doesn't seem to come from a lack of video memory. As you say, we will have to wait and see if someone else work it out. :)

From another forum: add on the disabled GPU slot the parameter gpu-beta and give it "true" as value.

Now my iGPU is running a WU !

Edit: But 4 hours and half for 2800 points it is probably not worth the trouble. Especially since it takes a CPU core.
