Change in WU after restart
I had to restart my computer to install a Windows update, so I paused the client, restarted the computer, and then began the client again. Prior to the restart, the GPU had completed about 60% of a WU that was estimated to get around 160,000 points, but after the restart, it said that it was working on another WU with 0% completed, but after a few minutes, it went back up to about 60%, but with a different estimate for final credit, and a different WU project description. It just finished the WU, with a final credit estimate of about 188,000 points. Any idea what caused this? I worry that it may have conflated results from two separate WUs, however this seems unlikely, as the server seems to have accepted the results.

PPD values are liquid values, which means they change, going up when GPU is folding and nothing else is happening on the system, and it will go down with time if you are doing something to take away some GPU power off folding. Pausing and restarting a WU can influence PPD value as well, since you wasted few minutes without folding, value will be smaller. It is possible in your case, with restart your GPU got clean period of folding where nothing else could influence it, and thus PPD value increased. The more you fold the bigger PPD value there is gonna be.
If you fold 24 hours non stop PPD value will be much higher than if you folded for 12 hours straight, but then decided to game for another 12 hours and stopped folding. PPD calculation takes into account a lot of aspects

I see nothing wrong with the logs, and after restart your GPU slot did pick up the same projects and WU as before, or am I missing something?

Yeah, maybe they updated the description of the WU, because the description prior to the restart was for a different project, and the estimated credit was around 160,000 points, but I actually ended up getting more than that.

By the way, if there are any changes to Base Credit for a project while you are folding that project, the change will not affect you. You will get whatever was set when you downloaded the WU
The next one downloaded will be with updated base credit values

As you can see estimated points in webcontrol are different from final PPD value

I've also noticed that if a GPU WU hasn't been assigned, after say, 10 attempts, it'll impose a delay between the last failed attempt and subsequent attempt to obtain a WU, but if I pause and then unpause the client, the delay is reset, and it is sometimes able to obtain a GPU WU much more quickly. Is this intended, or is the reset of the delay between WU attempts after pausing and unpausing the client a bug?

When a WU approaches completion, FAHClient will attempt to download a new assignment. If it succeeds, there are now two WUs associated with the same slot. If you do nothing, the first one will finish and the second one will begin processing with minimal delay.
I don't understand your initial report. You said one WU was 60% complete but it started a different WUs. That's certainly not normal. The first WU should have been the only GPU WU that you had so how did it start another one. Please find that log segment in the history file "logs" (The other WUs associated with the CPU slots can be ignored.) This certainly looks like one WU reached 100% just as a new WU was downloading which shouldn't have been a problem at all.
If, while two WUs are enqueued, IF YOU PAUSE and then UNPAUSE FAH, either one may start processing, not necessarily the one that's almost finished. That was supposedly fixed some time in the past, but apparently not although I don't see that that happened.
Personally, I normally adjust the next-unit-percentage to 100 which is great when we're not dealing with servers that are bandwidth-saturated. I'll open a ticket on this issue, now that I've been reminded of it.

My initial report was based on the fact that the description and credit estimate for the GPU WU changed after the system restarted, and after the client was unpaused. It would appear that, according to the log, the project ID stayed the same, but the description changed. Webcontrol pulls descriptions from project summary page live, whatever changes happen, they will be shown straight away (or after webcontrol restart). Base credit however, even if displayed as updated value, will not change for your current WU. Your current WU will get what it was initially set to get. Base Credit values almost never change in public FAH. Last time it gets adjusted is during Beta stage
