All I get is a revolving cycle of the following (My GPU has never got an assignment since I started, its not supported I guess):

The "No WUs available for this configuration" means that there are no workunits in the queue for you at that moment. This is not a problem on your end, but simply a result of the unexpected 10x expansion of F@h userbase over the past month, which has led to workunits sometimes being consumed faster than they can be generated. The research teams are getting new servers online and more projects into the queue, so hopefully the servers can keep up with demand soon. Just leave everything running and it will pick up work when its available.
F@h is now the top computing platform on the planet and nothing unites people like a dedicated fight against a common enemy. This virus affects all of us. Lets end it together.

From this article:
https://nypost.com/2020/03/23/supercomputer-finds-77-drugs-that-could-halt-coronavirus-spread/amp/

Quote:
Going forward, the researchers plan to run the experiment again with a new, more accurate model of the protein spike that the virus uses. It’s possible that the new model will change which drugs are most effective against the virus and hopefully shorten the road to a treatment option.

Are the researchers using data from Folding@Home? :-)

Linus tech tips just made the server cry by posting a video. more enthusiastic gamers with powerful hardware are now active in the pool. Linus also teased a video that he is going to show how a work server is setup as a learning opportunity and help with the download/upload load on the servers.

Finally getting work for the CPU. I'm running Rosetta@home and Folding@home concurrently. Its the only way to keep my CPU's busy. Happy to contribute to both.

Sorry, but to fold for coronavirus you have to choose Any Disease in settings. If there are no covid projects, you get assigned a random one. if covid was an option, everyone would choose it, and while we do need covid support, after the craze everyone would forget to change it back and most WUs wouldn't fold. IF you really want covid projects, get a slot for every thread on your CPU for the highest chance of getting covid projects. You can also maximize your credits! :) The title of the topic does seem a little rude. Maybe change it to COVID-19 On FAH?

Thank you for posting this. I literally got chills as I watched the amount of processing power added by a system they had lying around. The donor response resulting from the addition of the Covid project is breathtaking. The amount of compute power still unused and available is literally incomprehensible to me. Dr. Pande et.al. created a remarkable compute machine 20 years ago. I sincerely hope that the efforts to increase the supply of work units can continue to meet demand. If supply can meet demand we will see a signature moment in the life of this project. We're all watching and participating in something truly unique.

Having been in china for two weeks in early January I find this ironic as the entire country of China as far as I could tell referred to it as the Wuhan virus in Mandarin. Now that the Chinese Communist Party has spent nearly a billion dollars pushing the racism and conspiracy theory propaganda it appears to be working.

Have you lobbied to remove Lyme disease, Japanese encephalitis, or perhaps Ebola from common lexicon? Do you realize how silly this is?

It must be said that the new coronavirus is terrible, and anyone should take it seriously. I work in a pizzeria. We need to check the temperature every 4 hours and wash our hands every 30 minutes. A thermometer that can take readings without touching is essential for us. Its measurement speed is very fast, and it also has a fever alarm function, making it easier to know who has a fever. I also got a 50% discount for a limited time, which is more cost-effective:

Just to clarify, when I initially proposed Folding@home look into Wuhan Coronavirus / COVID-19, I was going by what the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and even our own US NPR was calling it at the time. Just like many other diseases named for their geographic origin, or the first patient to be identified, or the first doctor to treat it. No malice or political skew was intended.

Wuhan coronavirus has strong ability to infect humans. Press release. Chinese Academy of Sciences - cited in the Lancet pubication
This result shows that Wuhan Coronavirus infects human respiratory epithelial cells through the molecular mechanism of S-protein interaction with human ACE2.

As of version 7.6.9 of the FaH Client, you can pick "COVID-19".

The "I support research fighting..." (web control) / "Cause Preference..." (Client Advanced Control) just sets a preference, but won't stop WUs from other causes from running if your system is ready for a WU and there aren't any WUs of one's "Cause Preference" available that could run on your machine.

For example, I had installed the 7.6.9 client on my machine five days ago and selected COVID-19, and while I have received a number of COVID-19 projects, I have also received WUs for a scattering of other projects.

This is Concerning - Does anyone know if this has come on the radar of Folding@home?

Los Alamos National Laboratory/University of Sheffield paper (pre-print - still under review)

"Spike mutation pipeline reveals the emergence of a more transmissible form of SARS-CoV-2".

European strain (esp Italy & Switzerland) has variations in the spike protein, making it out-compete the original Wuhan form (D614 vs G614). According to the study, it appears the predominant form in Europe and the United States is the G614 type.
