GTX750-TI and Core 17 on Windows

Post by Nert »

For the past two weeks or so I have been receiving and folding x'17 units on my GTX-750-TI using Windows Vista 32 bit. PPD and temperature all look excellent when processing these units (high 40 K to mid 50 k ppd and temps around 49 degrees C). I know that previously I would not get assigned any of these units due to Nvidia driver issues. Has there been any kind of announcement or statement about this problem being resolved ? I did try to track down the answer to this question before posting, but I couldn't find an answer (I probably missed it).

Thanks.

I didn't see an announcement either. I'm not sure anybody ever identified the exact cause or the exact solution, but if it's working for you, just keep on folding. (Mine is working, too.)

My observation is that Maxwells started working with Core_17 approximately when v.55 of Core_17 was released. I don't know that anyone has checked the different versions to see if that was the source of the solution.

I'm pretty happy that I'm able to make more of a contribution. Now that things are working I'll probably add a second Maxwell card to my system to wring out a little more performance from my old system. I wonder if they didn't implement that "polling" mechanism described in other threads to resolve the problem. I notice on my dual core system that the Fahcore_17.exe process consumes roughly one core's worth of main processor cycles.

Regards.

Not polling. fahcore_17 v55 was patched to work around the NV driver bug. Once NV fixes it natively, it might actually go even faster.
