Doesn't look like this was credited in my stats, and the final verdict was "[03:42:03] - Server has already received unit."
Can't quite figure out why. Well, I did restart the client several times and there even was a -configonly at some point. Can't remember what I changed, though. Most likely nothing major, possibly nothing, just reviewed the config. Sure would be nice to know what happened with the client and/or server. Even the initial WU download seems a bit odd, some assign server thingy in there...

Which I find a bit strange, because I took less than 2 days to complete a WU with 14day preferred deadline.

I guess there never will be an entry credited to me, because the server seems to have rejected the WU I completed. I'd just like to know why. Like why the WU was sent to someone else way before the preferred deadline, to begin with.

Sending the WU to someone else should not invalidate the one that was sent to you.

Your WU:
Download [January 28 18:13 UTC]
Finished [January 30 03:41 UTC]

Other person:
WU assigned at: 2011-01-28 18:09 UTC
Uploaded: 2011-01-29 19:02 UTC

Its very strange to see the same WU assigned twice within a few minutes of each other. I can't explain it.

Perhaps some really rare server synchronization problem? Mine started out a bit unconventionally - I think - to begin with. One can always speculate, I suppose. :)
BTW, I'm transferring stuff over WLAN. I think it's a really stable connection, but still might not match the stability of a wired one. Judging by the timestamps, there may have been some really short glitch.

The most common source of "Could not CosmHTTPOpen" error is that you're not connected to the Internet.

Trying to provide as much extra info as possible, so I dug up a looong network cable - wireless management is disabled - and checked some WLAN router stats. Here goes:

Code: Select all

Router Model Buffalo WHR-G54S
Uptime 2 days, 14:16
Firmware Version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) mini - build 14896
LAN MAC 00:16:01:8C:55:6C
Wireless MAC 00:16:01:8C:55:6E
LAN IP 192.168.1.1

Radio is On
Mode AP
Network G-Only
Channel 6
TX Power 28 mW
Rate 36 Mbps

Wireless Packet Info
Received (RX) 624644 OK, 1 errors
Transmitted (TX) 863593 OK, 105 errors

Services
DHCP Server Enabled
WRT-radauth Disabled
Sputnik Agent Disabled

Memory
Total Available 12.7 MB / 16.0 MB
Free 1.2 MB / 12.7 MB
Used 11.5 MB / 12.7 MB
Buffers 1.4 MB / 11.5 MB
Cached 4.2 MB / 11.5 MB
Active 3.6 MB / 11.5 MB
Inactive 2.0 MB / 11.5 MB

Space Usage
JFFS2 768.00 KB / 444.00 KB

Wireless
Clients MAC Address	Interface	Uptime	TX Rate	RX Rate	Signal	Noise	SNR	Signal Quality
1C:4B:D6:85:D5:4C	eth1	N/A	N/A	N/A	-56	-95	39	47% 48%
Sure, I've set the TX power quite low, but that seems enough for me. As far as I can tell, the wireless packet loss is low:
  • RX = 1 / 624644 * 100% = 0.00016%
  • TX = 105 / 863593 * 100% = 0.012%
Stats are from ~2.5 day duration only, the router was power cycled recently due to unrelated maintenance stuff. My computer can detect 3 other WLAN networks broadcasting their IDs and the router itself can pick up 6 others at the moment. So yes, it's not a perfect environment for wireless networking, there may be occasional radio interference. Nevertheless, Windows has never reported a dropped WLAN connection, as far as I can tell.

Not sure if these characteristics could/should (very rarely) cause a connection failure to FAH servers, let alone cause a successfully downloaded and uploaded WU to be discredited, but there's the info anyway. Hope it helps, in case someone in the know cares to try and diagnose the problem further.
