At thins point there's a 800MB "wudata_xx.arc" file in my work folder.

It's been like that for more than a month.

I reported the same WU on Sep 24: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=11240&hilit=2498

Stop the client, delete the unitinfo and queue.dat files and \work folder, restart the client. If you get the same WU back, repeat the process. It may take as many as 5 cycles before you get a different WU.
