Re: a couple of my work units stopped

Wus that are not returned by timeout are reassigned to another folder ... you can use the wu status app to check if another folder has completed it.

Re: when u catch 'em using F@H as a benchmark

Actually if you want to benchmark with FaH then far better to take a copy of the working folder for a WU you are completing and run the Fahcore from command line "offline" ... You can use the same wu time and time again on all kit and have a direct comparison of performance ... also useful...

Re: Task jumps to 70% immediately

So now you are feeling feel to insult others based on your opinions ... rofl :) ... I suggest to you that I know exactly what will happen to my kit under various scenarios and tbh it is set to react exactly the way I wish it to - it is being managed and controlled precisely how I see fit ... your as...

Re: Task jumps to 70% immediately

Why on earth would you want a different state after a reboot? A powercut doesn't change what processors you want folding to run on. I manage a large amount of kit, personal and corporate - I have very good system management reasons for wanting to fully control my kit the way I want/need ... I don't...

Re: Task jumps to 70% immediately

... and for me it is very simple ... I always want FaH on my kit to default to paused if for some reason there is an unintended interruption (be it the client or wider os/hardware/power related) for a whole bag load of system management reasons. The hard bit is that there are very many "simples...

Re: Ability to abort/cancel a workunit?

Yes the client will drop a wu if it passes expiry deadline ... timeouts and expiry deadlines are set by the researchers based on various factors relating to urgency of research, types of project, and sometimes they can be a bit obscure ... a small fast wu with long deadlines - a large long wu with s...

Re: How to make remote access work!

The hfm developer is still active on forums (hfm has its own sub forum) so you can request functionality and see if the dev is willing to incorporate it .. to the best of my knowledge all these interfaces are basically enthusiast created and maintained and so changes only happen if they want them to .

Re: How to make remote access work!

BWG has some kind of interface used to monitor rigs ... recently saw it monitoring BWGs rigs at over 100m ppd ... there is an api that you can use for control/monitoring but if you want something to do precisely what you want you may have to code it yourself ... other people's setups will do what th...

Re: How to make remote access work!

Hfm is used by many of the testers ... I have seen output from folders bespoke systems on Discord which are tailored by them for exact what they want - some may be happy to share what they have done ... I personally use a very light weight android app to monitor my rigs that was written by another f...

Re: Ability to abort/cancel a workunit?

No cpu slots won't come back .. there is a setting that can be set to stop gpu slots being auto generated if you want to know more search the forums or ask .. I know nothing about boinc but can confirm that FaH has PCI-E requirements that exceed mining rigs x1 risers - how much depends on the gpu an...

Re: How to make remote access work!

The next version of the client will most likely be focused on improving the science - what the interface is like is at this point not known but is likely to be the culmination of many inputs from folders and the requirements of the researchers ... with still a relatively small amount of dev effort w...

Re: Ability to abort/cancel a workunit?

FAH has been running for 22 years and you're telling me thley're still ironing out bugs? Simply put "Yes" A bit of the history of FaH (in naive format, as I understand it) may help you understand this: FaH has evolved slowly with minimal developer effort (academic funding tends to be for ...
