Re: Inconsitency on F@h stats pages
At one time an older version of the stats page stated personal stats were ranked excluding "Anonymous" and something else I don't recall. Just Anonymous will account for part of the difference as there are 6 different entries for various teams including the default team 0. The other stats ...

Re: Additional diseases FAH
Some research has gone into looking for "pockets" where drugs potentially could attach and prevent misfolding or keep a virus from properly folding and penetrating a cell wall. An example of the second would be research into the COVID "spike". As for possible, it depends on a res...

Re: Android and iOS app version
This most likely will not happen. They did run an app provided through SONY for their Android phones a few years ago, that ended when SONY stopped support. The code was made open source and the people running F@h said at the time they would consider looking at possibly supporting a client in the fut...

Re: Apple Silicon ARM chips - M3 family support status
The v8 Public Beta fully supports Apple Silicon, both the client and CPU folding cores have been compiled o use the Apple native machine code. The rest of the features only would possibly be useful for the GPU folding. But GPU folding is not supported on any macOS system at this point. How well the ...

Re: Batch file to Pause/Restart FAH
Old links in the forum were broken when it was transferred to a new host and to a new version of the forum software in April '22. That "viewtopic" is a partial link that should be https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=33296. Any of the partial links can be appended to https://f...

Re: getting a passskey replacement
No, it does not have to be your username as I stated above. That has never been a requirement, and people keep putting that it is a requirement are repeating a bit of misinformation someone posted years ago. There is no registry that ties usernames and passkeys beyond the database that ensures there...

Re: getting a passskey replacement
Welcome to the folding support forum. Where did you get that 20-digit passkey? They have always been 32 character hexadecimals, I am still using the one I got over a dozen years ago and it is exactly that. If you are confusing the use of a passkey with setting a password for FAHControl to access rem...

Re: how to stop search ignoring terms? Looking for a topic
Yes, the basic search provided with the phpBB code is limited. On the previous host running an older version of the phpBB software a prior admin had added Google search as an option, but that did not carry over to the current host and version of the software. Currently I have most of the admin acces...

Re: Why does the date appear in the console window sometimes?
For the log file FAHClient defaults to entering the date as a timestamp every few hours. This is probably from the same setting. It has been a while since I checked the default, but I think it is every 6 hours, and it makes it a bit easier to determine when a WU was processed in a longer log. Throug...

Re: Fahcore_23 still broken on Windows 7 systems
I would like to see this core updated/fixed for Windows 7. The client and cores are still 32 bit so I'm not sure what the actual issue is. This is not going to happen. MS ended Windows 7 support over 3 years ago and even the extended security updates ended January of this year. F@h can't single han...

Re: clGetPlatformIDs() returned -1001
Surely they should base future WU's based on what the hardware has managed in the past. A quick speed test of the machine the first time it connects to folding@home would suffice. That would require keeping statistical data of tens of thousands different systems and an increase in complexity to the...

Re: Team concept
Ah ok. So why are there teams? You asked why this after finding out you could not move points from one team to another. BobWilliams757 gave a good answer to the why of teams, they basically give groups a chance to contribute together towards F@h. Some have benefits for members, others are just soci...

Re: Super slow downloads from 129.32.209.200:8080
Yes, it has been a problem with other servers at that site, sometimes shows up as slow downloads, other times uploads that may fail and switch to the collection server on the same network. Making it harder to diagnose is that not everyone gets the slowdown. For example I have almost never had proble...

Re: Super slow downloads from 129.32.209.200:8080
This has been a reoccurring problem. The latest I have heard is that the developer of the server code has been put in contact with the campus IT people to see if they can figure out what is causing this.
