Re: servers 158.130.118.23 and .26 rejecting connection request
Person in charge of the servers is looking into this, so waiting to hear back. The scheduled downtime was supposed to be for 2-3 hours a bit after midnight local time.

Re: servers 158.130.118.23 and .26 rejecting connection request
Both servers show as "Down" on the server status page - https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats. I just checked elsewhere, there was a notice earlier today that the UPenn servers would be down for several hours later today for network work and upgrades. I have asked if that work started...

Re: Nvidia T1000 on Win10 VM
Where did you get the driver for the T1000? If downloaded using Windows Update it will not include OpenCL and CUDA support, just the video drivers. You will need the download direct from Nvidia.

Re: Points Drop
Looking up your recent WUs using the app - https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu, you are not receiving bonus points even with a passkey. Using the Bonus Status app, your username shows 1581 WUs finished, 8357 expired, and a completion rate of less than 16%. You need a completion rate of better than 80...

Re: Disappearing Points
The points shown on the web control are based on the username and passkey entered into the client. If either was changed recently that would only show th points for the current pairing.
Otherwise at times the database lookup can fail, but that is harder to diagnose.

There already was an entry for this in GPUs.txt: 0x10de:0x2705:2:9:AD103 [GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER] The first problem shows up here: 17:30:10:WARNING:FS01:No CUDA or OpenCL 1.2+ support detected for GPU slot 01: gpu:-1:-1. Re: Anyone having trouble with the newest NVIDIA Driver 546.65?
There is no general report of problems with the most recent driver from Nvidia. Please provide extracts from your logs showing the system and folding configuration as well as the WUs that are failing with the associated error messages.

Re: mac with 8 cores but fahcore only using 700% max according to top?
I just set the CPU thread number in FAHControl. In the case of my son's Mac Pro and similar machines I have used with i7 processors that was based on looking up the processors and seeing their actual core count. For example his Mac Pro 5,1 had one Xeon W3530, 4 cores with 8 threads provided. None of...

Re: mac with 8 cores but fahcore only using 700% max according to top?
I haven't run any specific benchmarks on my Macs, but anecdotally have found that I get the best results in points for the power used when I limit the CPU threads to the number of full cores and don't use the threads provided by HT on Intel processors. The CPU folding core is capable of using about ...

Re: The system folds on CPU, but not on Nvidia GPU
can you help me, I have a Quadro 2000 and it is detected but not folding, I am using Win 10 The Quadro 2000 is too old to use for folding. It is based on Nvidia's Fermi GPU chips, they are no longer supported. Oldest Nvidia GPUs supported are based on Kepler chips and only use OpenCL for processing...

Re: Max CPU threads for "Full power"
Not really. However you can explicitly set the number of CPU threads within FAHControl, that number overrides the value that the slider would otherwise set. That applies to the v7 client. The web based control for the public beta v8 client sets the number within the machine settings.

Re: Why Fold? AI solves it.
Not all projects have moved to AI, only some. So their statement was incorrect from the start, probably based on a misunderstanding of what AI can do and what distributed computing projects can use it for. In the case of folding, AI may be useful in finding folded states. But what it won't show are ...

Re: Nvidia GTX460 not supported? Too slow. [Resolved]
In addition to not supporting OpenCL 1.2 the GTX 460 also does not support a high enough version of Nvidia's CUDA. The oldest Nvidia GPUs that can be used for folding are those based on the Kepler microarchitecture introduced on many of the GT(X) 600 series cards. Some of the low end 600 and 700 ser...

Re: Is there a new version of FAH for 2024?
As mentioned, the client does not get updated often, and an older version usually still works well. The parts that do the work, the folding cores, do get updated more often. The client will download new cores as needed for the WUs. As for automatic updates to the client that was not implemented base...

Re: FahCore 23 broken on Fedora 39
At least the Quad Core Q9xxx processors use the same LGA 775 socket as the Q6600, an upgrade there should be possible for under $50.
