Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7

Hi RMCholewa - This error you've shared is actually a failure to read the remote xml file that contains the update information for HFM. What's strange here is that you appear to be getting an html document, not an xml document. Will you go to this link and see what you receive? This should prompt yo...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7

I hadn't found that issue. But I agree with the author's comments. This kind of hex encoding does not represent valid JSON.

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7

Hi JWhy - Yep, that got it. Localized error message with hex encoding in the info message. I missed it when looking at your previous captures. This "style" of hex encoding may be specific to python. I'm using the .NET industry standard library to parse the JSON from FAHClient and that comp...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7

Hi JWhy - I've taken your capture of the client messages, specifically the log-restart message and pushed it through HFM's log parsing, thinking that the unicode characters represented in hex might be tripping something up, and those character sequences don't appear to be a problem. I also investiga...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7

Yes, try 7.6.13 again please. If that doesn't pan out I'll get another preview out with some additional logging around the HFM & FAHClient communications. Also, what appears to be character encoding changes might also an issue. I was not aware of any localization in the log data... so that may b...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v6/v7

RMCholewa - Open the HFM.log file (see the Help menu) and look for entries with the reblouise or starbuck names please. A connection failure should generate some information in the log that will be helpful in diagnosing the problem.

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v6/v7

New Version: 0.9.17.1040 - Project Site - Download I encourage everyone to save their hfmx configuration file once loaded into 0.9.17. Just select File > Save Configuration. I did not make this automatic because it does create an hfmx file that is incompatible with the previous release version 0.9....

Being one of the newbies among the rest of the 400,000 of us, and running on 6 hosts with 14 slots: Love HFM! Thank you for the new release with the fixes to the few bugs. I especially appreciate the connection problem to the EOC stats in the status bar. Just wanted to ask/suggest a few things that...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v6/v7

Hi goodyca - yeah, this really hits the nail on the head regarding why I no longer claim Mono compatibility... I've looked at the code path this error text describes, nothing I've changed in recent memory. In other words, I know this code path has worked on previous versions of Mono. What Linux dist...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v6/v7

Sorry you're having trouble goodyca. To further the record, this is why I no longer aim for or claim Mono compatibility. There are too many variances among the different Linux distros and builds of the Mono runtime. I'll offer a suggestion... since this error is coming from the check for updates on ...
