It doesn't progress at all on one of my PCs, not a single step completed despite running on all CPU cores for an extended period of time (20-30 mins, maybe; the CPU is fully loaded to 100% on all 4 cores.) I refresh the log - no change.

Re: Problem with Radeon 6970 GPU
Hello knowledgeable people... I would like to know - if anyone is able to offer insight - is if folding performance on Radeon 6970 has a chance of getting fixed in a future driver, or if it's going to remain terrible onwards. I hope to be building an all-new PC rig for games and folding, which would...

GPUs.txt download/update failure...
GPUs.txt, as located in users/xxx/appdata/roaming/fahclient (or whatever)? I moved it out to the desktop and started up the client, it's not downloading nuttin... :( Is there some procedure I can go through to coax it into doing what it's supposed to do on its own, because as it is right now the cli...

Re: Whitelist Change-Log
Hi Tim.
Can you please get Nvidia Geforce GTX 770 added as well? (10DE 1184, according to GPU-Z.)
I've got two of 'em here, anxious and chomping at the bit to get going. Thank you!

Re: Project: 5741 (Run 1, Clone 16, Gen 502)
Yeah, I noticed the other thread after I had already made this one.
Question arises though, if it's already known to be bad since quite a while, why is it still being sent out again and again?

Project: 5741 (Run 1, Clone 16, Gen 502)
Project bugs out immediately; computer is otherwise completely stable and all other projects run fine (except one other project that behaved the exact same way, which may or may not have been this one; it was weeks ago since it happened). System: Intel Core i7 920 AMD Radeon HD 4890 Windows Vista 64...

Re: Assignment server goof up?
It may have error checks during calculation, but once a frame's been processed, then what? Data in RAM or on disk is still vulnerable - Ars Technica did a piece yesterday or the day before on a recent study that shows RAM errors are magnitudes more common than previously believed, and with tens, if ...

Re: Assignment server goof up?
But as a general rule, the project does not send out the same work unit multiple times. For reasons of error correction/redundancy, WUs should be processed at least twice. SETI@Home has always sent out multiple copies of their packets for this very reason, to minimize the risk of calculation errors...

Re: 171.67.108.20 Could not connect to Work Server
Almost all my single-core CPU clients are now out of work (6/8, and 2 more will be done in 1-3 hours), and none of them can get new work.
At least one client has been out of work for over a full day now.
Please fix. My PCs are getting restless!

Re: "Webpage has expired" browser error message.
Pretty much any time I hit my back button. If I'm very fast jumping back it might work, but as I mentioned in the original post, the window of opportunity where it does work is really small. I run IE8 btw, not that I expect it to really matter. I've seen this behavior before on Phpbb webforums, but ...

"Webpage has expired" browser error message.
Why's this error showing up? I can't see there's any reason for the forum pages to expire at all, much less expire after only about 30 seconds. All it does is increase load on your forum server when it has to needlessly re-transmit the same pages over and over, and irritate users like me that are in...

Re: FAH - military connection? [No -- just internet FUD]
It's very hard to see how researching the folding process of human proteins could be applied to germ weapons/warfare.

Re: CPU Architecture and FAH
Typically/generally speaking: Level 1 cache is optimized for latency (ie, fast access time.) Level 2 cache is optimized for bandwidth (ie, data transfer rate.) Level 3 cache (if applicable) is optimized for storage capacity. Also, maybe nitpicking, but MMX and SSE aren't actual processor UNITS. :) T...

Re: 171.65.103.98 - Cannot get GPU WU's
I've been away from F@H for a while due to PC stability issues, today when I choose to try making a comeback nothing works, lol... Been trying to get a new WU since just before 6PM CET, and now it's past 11PM CET. My log file looks like this all the way through: [21:04:57] + Attempting to get work p...
