Connecting to 155.247.166.219: connection failed
Not getting more than the very occasional work unit. Client always tries to connect to this one specific server and typically gets no work; in a day and a half it has received two work units I think. Client typically stops at the line "HH:MM:SS:WU01:FS00:Connecting to 155.247.166.219:80", ...

Re: Failed to get assignment; empty work server
You did not post the 'interesting' part of your log where it lists your configuration, so I will make random stabs in the dark. Oops! I thought I got all of the log file... Sorry about that. Anyway, yeah, setting CPU threads to 6 (it was 7 originally), pausing the CPU client and then resuming again...

Failed to get assignment; empty work server
I've had folding on hiatus over the summer (as my apartment lacks air conditioning, and having two PCs belching heat 24/7 during the hottest months of the year is incompatible with decent human living conditions ;)), and now that I've resumed again I find that neither of my rigs will download any wo...

Re: AMD Windows Driver Crimson 15.11.1
I'm still on Cat 14.9. Is there any clear advantage for new drivers on older/lower-end (7750) GPUs? If you don't play games and all you really do with the card is fold, maybe not so much. I don't know how much more performance you really get out of the same GPU as driver revisions roll by - is comp...

Re: Unable to download new WU
It's in the read-mes somewhere -- try this max-packet-size=big and client-type=advanced will work together. Advanced will give you slightly less well tested projects, with a slightly higher risk of failures. That should be the only downside. Thanks a lot! Really appreciate the help. :) Maybe I'm im...

Re: Unable to download new WU
Had a GPU slot log that looked like this for hours and hours: (No extra settings anywhere, just default stuff you get when doing a clean install. No preference regarding projects/type of work units, and so on.) 22:52:06:WU00:FS01:Connecting to 171.67.108.204:80 22:52:07:WARNING:WU00:FS01:Failed to g...

Re: AMD Windows Driver Crimson 15.11.1
Cool. :) With the fan speed stuck I was at 15% and 15-19% on the second card temps were 53c and 56c. Yay for watercooling! Wu's are finished so I've suspended folding until the update drops. A little late to the party perhaps, but it's still worth noting that 56C is almost nothing in the way of tem...

Re: Pause/Resume gpu core 17 takes 2.5min with high CPU usag
But still the question: Is it safe to suspend and resume the FahCore_17.exe process :?: It "should be*", with the caveat that since FaH doesn't know you've paused its GPU core it won't write any checkpoints during the time it is paused, meaning if you shut your PC or FaH down, you'll lose...

Re: Can i use Intel(R) HD Grapich Family for folding
Any plans to make this possible? It's a lot of gigaflops being wasted, with on-chip GPUs being fairly strong these days.

Re: AMD 14.4 WHQL Drivers
Try this utility or the related ones mentioned on top of the page (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html). Ah, great! Thank you so much. Yes, this utility does seem to do the trick. SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED in ATIKMDAG.SYS was the error I encountered. ...Twice, in the span o...

Re: AMD 14.4 WHQL Drivers
Dunno if there are any benefits or not (I haven't checked), but these drivers clearly aren't stable for folding on my ASUS R9 290X DirectCU-II OC as I've gotten two bluescreens in just a few days even with core downclocked to 600MHz (to reduce heat now that weather is getting warmer and indoor temps...

Re: Is this a bad WU: project 8583 run 0 clone 3 gen 77
Ok, thanks for the additional advice people. I have folded for a couple days previously with the default setup of cores (Edit: both CPU SMP & 2x GPU) without issue, but there does indeed seem to be some kind of perpetual race condition going on here, seeing as FAH had only completed 0.00276% (13...

Re: Is this a bad WU: project 8583 run 0 clone 3 gen 77
According to task manager, fahcore_a3.exe uses about 74-75% CPU. 2x fahcore_16.exe uses about 9-16% each, it varies a bit up and down. Nothing else uses any appreciable amount of CPU; System hovers at >1% intermittently, but that seems rather insignificant and can't explain this monstrous slowness. ...

Re: Is this a bad WU: project 8583 run 0 clone 3 gen 77
Ok, thank you so much for the help and information! :) I'll just let it keep running then and hope for the best, although it still hasn't completed one single percent; ugh, what a monster WU this must be. *Edit: still not convinced this WU isn't borked; I notice it's been folding for at least two ho...

Re: Is this a bad WU: project 8583 run 0 clone 3 gen 77
I would have posted the log, but since that client doesn't run on my work box (and thus has no easy way to post to message boards from :)) and the log didn't say anything special at the time of my original post (just the usual startup stuff, and then stopping on the line "Completed 0 out of xxx...
