Unfortunately no - when you run a simulation you need the whole molecule or at least as much of it as the researcher want to simulate. You'll have to find some other project, e.g. in BOINC for those smaller computers.

Please don't run old versions of the client, due to security. See the solution further up in the thread for how to run the client as the fahclient user rather than root.

You remember to restart the client every time to you change the network access settings? I think they don't apply until restart.

If I'm restarting the machine, I don't finish the WU but I tend to wait until a checkpoint occurs, so every 5% or 2% of a GPU WU.

I have never heard of that happening. What can happen, though, is that if your client already has downloaded a new WU - for a second GPU or because you're almost finished with a WU, and you pause the client, it will start folding the newest WU instead of completing the one you've already started.
