Re: points
Points don't always get applied immediately. WUs can be uploaded to EITHER the WS or the CS. Either one puts an official timestamp on the results. Later, that information will need to be moved to the WS (which depends to a server-to-server link that you're not responsible for and then moved from the...

Re: can't get new wu from all assignment server
Good. Getting an assignment with either number is a sign that everything is working. I just happened to have a CPU:3 slot request work at that time.

Re: Project 18202 - all wu fail to upload
I don't see any reason to be concerned about 128.252.203.11 (highland1.engr.wustl.edu) accepting uploads. Your log shows your client is uploading to that server an concurrently downloading a new assignment. Except for the error message "Failed to send results to work server: 10002: Received sho...

Re: The fahcontrol log and status shows different data.
FahControl manages more than one device (e.g.- a CPU process and a GPU process) and merges the results. You have to mentally distinguish between those data streams or use the filter capabilities of the log's viewer in FAHControl. Lines a prefixed with :WUmm: and :FSnn: to help the mental processing....

Re: can't get new wu from all assignment server
That may depend on the number of CPU threads that get allocated to process the WU. I have a system with 4 CPU threads an a GPU which grabbed a new WU for 3 threads just a few minutes ago. Further reports from all of you will probably help.

Re: Errors on servers
Specific servers may or may not have WUs that match the requirements of your hardware. You have no clontrol over which projects happen to be assigning WUs now or what limitations have been placed on the assignments of a specific projects. If the first choice of server happens to run out of work you ...

Re: Permission to re-use the "Even while you sleep" video
There's something going on at FAH's headquarters and everybody who can give you an official answer is deeply involved. I'm sorry, but I can't give you an authorized answer.

As Joe_H said, we are responsible for the points. We have no connection with Bitg or any of the other cybercoin sites (and there are several :!: ) The flat files are reasonably dependable. The API has been recently undergoing changes. If you're not happy with bitg, try one of the other cybercoin sit...

Re: Setting the time to request new work
Back in the days when data was transferred by modem, we had a lot of 56kbit connections and even though most WUs were smaller, it did take longer to download so 99% was a reasonable number. With modern broadband connections, the time from 100% until the previous WU is ready to transmit is about righ...

Re: Project 18202 - all wu fail to upload
highland1.engr.wustl.edu (128.252.203.11) is apparently out of disk space. I'll check with the server's owner, but with the long weekend, I doubt anything will happen until Tuesday. (The message coming back from the Server usually means it's run out of disk space to store more WUs.) You can't do any...

Re: Setting the time to request new work
There's always a significant pause in GPU load while the just-completed WU gets prepared to upload (zipped/tared and erased) before FAHClient enqueues that result for uploading. I've never monitored how much temperature shock that produces.

Re: Setting the time to request new work
I understand your concern. I've had similar thoughts. The one thing supporting the % concept is that it's a definite number. There's always a 99%. Personally, I like 100%. That gives brief interval during which the WU that was just completed can compress the results. In fact, over a number of WUs it...

OK, then i guess im off from this place then. I was looking for a way to mine and at same time contribute to science and help out. No problem, I´ll just move on then. uninstalling the software then. thank you for explaining. You missed the point. Uninstalling FAH will stop you from curing disease A...

Re: Radeon RX 6800 / 6800 XT / 6900 XT support enabled !
GPUs.txt does download automatically, but for the most part, that's a lot of wasted communications... and "rarely" makes a lot sense. Everybody who did NOT add a new GPU doesn't need a new copy of GPUs.txt; they've already got their current hardware in the local cache. Adding a couple of n...
