Re: Over 2 exaflops!

I don't care if I'm busting COVID's sorry rear end, or Cancer's.... It will be "Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to fold I go..." should I win that lottery.

Re: Over 2 exaflops!

I know my 2 older quad-core systems were slacking (mostly my fault for trying to be "experimental" with them.... :( Good news though, I have re-installed Fedora 32.x on them, and made it a point of order that I will not touch FAHControl settings anymore. Also, there will be no more attempt...

Re: Over 2 exaflops!

I do know there will be a major time COVID busting hardware upgrade, should I win the Power-ball or Mega-million lottery prize (after paying the tax man)....

My list is already a work in progress wish list @ Newegg. :D

Re: Over 2 exaflops!

I am euthanizing the Windows 7.0 x86 (64-bit) system tonight, upon attempted completion of the GPU task in progress.

Re: Over 2 exaflops!

And as a follow up: I will be removing F@H from my Windows 7 machine after I finish the current work unit in progress. As I can not predict its future reliability for running such an important project.

Re: Over 2 exaflops!

Ok... Well being that the Mobility HD3870's are as permanently installed as one can have them (in a laptop w/enough screws to keep track of that I'd need a jar for each size), I'm just going to be doing CPU WU's.

Re: Over 2 exaflops!

I know I have had 2 quad-core systems running nearly 20+ hours a day (considering time to update Fedora), and my primary 2-core Windows 7.0 SP1 (x86 64bit Pro) system using every bit of spare resources it can. And note that I am using 1 legacy quad-core Opteron 1300 series, a legacy quad-core Pentiu...

Re: Recommended Linux Installation & Configuration

If you use Fedora, there is a fix that I found when I was going through other threads that will work for patching the FAHControl so it will work. 1) You will need to open Terminal, and at the prompts enter the following: su [enter key] <your super user password> [enter key] gedit /usr/bin/FAHControl...

Final update: No go on the GTX 1650 for now--I need to put together a newer system. :(

Re: GT 710 LP folding but SLOW

I am no longer looking to run GPU work units on my Fedora v32 (x86-64 bit) systems, as I have a 4GB Zotac card w/the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU coming within the next couple of days. It will be going in my Win 7.0 (SP1 x86-64 bit) system. BTW: One of those Fedora systems is an older Alienware lapto...

Re: python-gnome2 dependency not met

TYVM. I'm going to take a closer look later this week. As I want to do all of my tinkering while I have no urgently needed work units running. Note: I'm going to be applying the work around to 2 Fedora 32 systems. My Win 7-SP1 system is humming along just fine running 2 work units at a time BTW. 1 o...

Re: GT 710 LP folding but SLOW

I finally bit the literal bullet, and relegated my GT 710 to an older Dell quad-core system I have Fedora 32 running on, due to the fact that the current drivers for it (when I had it on my Win 7 SP1 x86 64-bit machine) kept crashing.

Re: python-gnome2 dependency not met

My apologies for posting on this thread, as I am wishing to obtain assistance with finding a work around that I can use with the latest FAHControl (v7.6.13) on Fedora v31/32. To resolve the Python dependency issues. Should there be a thread that will answer my question on this issue, please point me...
