Re: Which GPUs to buy 07/2021

I was about to say, probably 25k. I used to get 22k on core 21. It was overclocked, and in linux. Recently run WU's on that GT 1030 have been pushing it to around 35-40K PPD on my dad's Win10 machine. :) Here's a link to info on that specific card I refer to: https://www.evga.com/products/product.a...

Re: Any way to get Navi (Radeon 6xxx) GPUs to perform better

This is one of AMD's self-inflicted flaws: GPU driver's. NVidia updates theirs more frequently; where as AMD is putting their efforts on making their hardware (the GPU chips) w/o focusing on what allows that hardware to interact with the O/S (drivers that run smoothly).

While I'm not a software/hardware engineer, I'm not sure these limits will hamper FAH or BOINC projects. As Etherum & other cryptocurency mining software is the target of the new hardware based limits..... Only time will tell though.

I updated my previous update (listing the model of my existing cooler on that 3950X).... :D A new case is on the upgrades list too (a Cooler Master HAF XB EVO unit).

Re: 18401 - Optout

I may need to check something, though I'm not over clocking it. [Update: Forgot to remove a piece of cardboard between the CPU fan, and heat sink, when I originally installed it. D 'OH] Additional update (9/30/21): I will be looking at upgrading the CPU heat sink and fan to a larger one from Noctua...

And in the meanwhile... My future self will be asking a device with Siri v200.1 to display the molecular structure of genuine Organic/Non-GMO coffee (and its effects on the human central nervous system). :]

New Core 0xA9

I have noticed that there is a new core type that is listed on the Server Stats page, as what I'm believing to be Gromacs A9. Is there information that can be publicly shared at this time in regards to it (new features or tweeks)?

Re: Which GPUs to buy 07/2021

I am looking at new hardware as we all speak... I'm just using that GT1030 for now, as I originally purchased it for use in an old Dell PowerEdge T105 (it's no longer operational) due to the fact that the card supported it's PCIe x8 slots (physical size). [Edit: I will be obsoleting it sometime befo...

Re: Which GPUs to buy 07/2021

I do not often keep track of that card, as it is on a system that was set up for my dad to get onto the internet. And the monitor is actually the 50" living room TV (he is 81 years old with severe visual impairment). I am getting approximately 25k-30k a day on that GT 1030. Depends on the WU's ...

Re: FAHControl not installable in new Debian stable (Bullsey

Welcome to the forum!! I am hopeful that someone who has a better understanding of Debian related issues can help you, as I am currently using the Fedora/Red Hat/CentOs variety of the linux distributions. Generally speaking, FAHControl (as downloaded from the FAH Servers) is dependent on Python v2. ...

I would have to let one of the more experienced members of the forum answer that. As my current folding machines are running either the most current Fedora Linux, or Windows 10 Home.
