Re: Folding priority on multi use machines?

Your wife is worth more than Folding.

Let her have the priority.

Re: work unit benchmark testing

Welcome to Folding@Home! The servers will sent different complexity Work Units based on the capabilities of your CPU. (Number of usable threads and talent of its SIMD math unit, Last I knew SSE 2.1, AVX, and AVX2 were supported) I am guessing your new CPU is 'better'. For GPU folding, there is FAHBe...

Honest, this is going to be much faster if you post the first 200 lines of the log so we can read your configuration.

Re: Can all projects run on GPU?

At least on Nvidia, the GPU driver running on the CPU sadly uses a busy wait, an infinite loop waiting for dara. This !makes it hard to judge how much is useful. While we have 75 years experience running multitasking on CPUs, there is little demand for multitasking on GPUs, gamers want every last cy...

Re: Can all projects run on GPU?

I am wildly out of date, but this is what I recall from a decade ago. CPUs can model the solvent (usually water) as individual atoms, while GPUs use an continuous approximation which is less accurate. In all honesty, that was once true, but I have not heard it mentioned in years. Real!isticly, GPUs ...

Re: The potential of AI in integrating with F@H"

(This is just my understanding, I am no expert) Most of the F@H math is 32 bit Floating Point, with occasional 64 bit FP doing accuracy checks. The new tensor cores used in AI are 8 bit FP. This is not enough accuracy for the repetitive calculations done in F@H. It may help in the logic part of the ...

Re: Does FAH run when the computer is already busy tho unattended?

CPU tasks are run at a very low priority, and rarely interfere with other CPU tasks. The GPU has no priorities, and will interfere with other GPU tasks.

Re: AMD 7900x - How to Monitor iGPU Usage?

In Windows, I would use the sensor tab of GPU-Z.

You might prefer MSI afterburner, but then you might be tempted to tweak something.

Re: nVidia 3060 Ti Fails To Start Folding

CUDA seems to be not initialize correctly.

I would use a uninstaller to completely remove your driver and then reinstall.

Re: Folding on big servers

Most Windows versions have a 32 thread limit. Neither Linux nor MacOS have that limit, but it appears the researchers plan for Windows.

Keep in mind the part of the answer "and there is only one developer" so enhancements will be addressed after bugs.

The minimum Raspberry pi is version 4. If you are on a lower version, it is unsupported.
