Re: How do I set different teams for different slots?
Maybe someone who is proficient in XML could point the way, I suspect that editing the fahclient's config.xml file would be the way....but then again the client might explode instead.

Re: Failed to create OpenCL context on recent Fedora 36 kernels
I don't use Fedora regularly, but I gather you need OpenCL for your GPU client. Maybe: https://linux-packages.com/fedora-36/pa ... -icdx86-64

Re: FAHcontrol not saving settings
Thanks, the CPU slot removal survived a reboot, but if it does reappear I'll add the "<pause-on-start v='True'/>" to the config.xml .

Re: FAHcontrol not saving settings
So I decided to take a sledgehammer to it and edit /etc/fahclient/config.xml , took out " <slot id='0' type='CPU'>" and was done with it.
I still would want to know the "why" as in WHY editinf the FAHcontrol configuration in the GUI doesn't save the changes....

Re: FAHcontrol not saving settings
Check for errors under the Log tab on the main screen. Or view the log directly, which may be located at /var/lib/fahclient/log.txt unless Ubuntu file structure is different than my Fedora system. My log: user@B560M-AORUS-PRO-AX:~$ cat /var/lib/fahclient/log.txt *********************** Log Started ...

FAHcontrol not saving settings
I'm running f@h client & fahcontrol_7.6.21-1, OS is Ubuntu 20.04.1. I want to delete the CPU slot but when I do, the setting persists. Rebooted the system doesn't change things either. I have a screen recording that I posted to Youtube to show, as a visual is sometimes easier/more effective than...

Re: PCIE4 @ x8 mode for 2nd GPU?
The biggest issue you may have is the thermal impact ... with two gpus in case the chances are the air flow will be impacted ... one or both gpus may potentially have thermal issues - either running hot or even getting to the point of thermally throttling. Good airflow case with lots of fans and re...

Re: PCIE4 @ x8 mode for 2nd GPU?
I'm looking to double up my FAH GPUs, 2 in one rig. My X79 board has: 3 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE1 @ x16 mode; PCIE3 @ x16 mode; PCIE4 @ x8 mode). Will the PCIE4 @ x8 mode affect PPD for the GPU installed there? It will. However, very minor. Most GPUs will see a degradation at PCIE 3.0 x4, ...

Re: Computer goes blank, won't revive-cold reboot required
Just as a test, have you tried disabling Monitor sleep and just turn off the monitor by using the power switch when you're not using the monitor? When you turn it back on is it frozen? Yes, that's what I've been doing. Strangely, there's no consistency, it would go a couple days without problem, th...

Re: Computer goes blank, won't revive-cold reboot required
Long Shot - Try switching from displayport/hdmi to the other if you can ... I have had issues in the past with certain monitors not reconnecting after monitor sleeping (not with FaH but with other programs) ... yours could possibly be some similar issue - machine was working fine but screen would n...

Re: Help building out a folding machine (motherboard specifically)
Well first the usual question: AMD or Intel? The AMD Ryzen series are excellent CPUs, as are the Intel i5/i7/i9 processors. As for motherboard I'd recommend an ATX (as opposed to an MATX ), so that you have a bit for space for 2 dual slot GPUs. 32 GB of RAM is a good starting point... So, pick which...

Re: Computer goes blank, won't revive-cold reboot required
Well I haven't as of yet determined the cause of the un-wakable display, but I can say with a degree of certainty that the folding progress continues uninterrupted. I'm looking at my PPD, and my GTX 1080 and GTX 1050 mobile GPUs alone are just not putting out the 3.7M PPD showing up on EOC.

Re: RTX 2060 vs RTX 3050 Performance
It's entirely up to you how you run your kit but I personally try to discourage others from overclocking. The card runs hotter, it draws disproportionally more power, the fan spin faster and noisier. Agreed. The novelty of higher clocks is long faded for me, stock is just fine, less heartaches. Bac...

Re: RTX 2060 vs RTX 3050 Performance
If you are interested in going a step-up to a 3060 Ti or even a 3070, register the GPU and keep an eye on what options the EVGA site shows you for step-up options for the first 90 days. They will let you ship your old card back and upgrade for the price difference between the models. But you have t...
