Re: WU Credit Lag?

The stats usually take 24 hours to be fully updated. There's a lot of load on them over the past few weeks. You can always check https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu to see the recent workunits returned by your username, and that information includes the team ID, so it may tell you if that hardware is...

Re: monitoring multiple headless linux clients

I think there are a couple problems. The local FAHClient instance is not configured to allow connections from localhost, which is why the FAHControl front-end can't connect. To set up remote access for the headless clients, add the following lines to /etc/fahclient/config.xml to each headless client...

That work server is up for me. Can you get to 52.224.109.74:80 in your web browser?

I'm not sure what you're asking here. Please explain what you mean when you said they won't run and want to reconnect to the hive. What are you trying to do?

This is unusual because the team information should change. Could you try submitting the new information again?

Re: new worker user not showing up

The stats system updates on a periodic basis. It may take about 24 hours for it to show up.

In the meantime, you can put in your username here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu and see your recently completed workunits.

Re: My GPU disappeared from FAH.

The GPU is, nearly always, significantly faster than the CPU. But we don't know your hardware, like JimboPalmer said, so it's hard to know for sure. In general, GPUs are more specialized so they aren't able to do as many different types of simulations, but for those that it can process, it does them...

Re: Difficulties Reinstalling Folding@home on Windows

Hi and welcome to the forum. That's definitely a rare error message. I would suggest deleting the F@h files by going to C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming and delete the FAHClient directory. (The AppData folder might be hidden, so if you don't see it, just add "AppData" to the path at the ...

Re: how to build client from source ?

FAHClient is one of the few components in F@h that is closed source. They do not want people to modify workunits and corrupt the management and processing of the scientific workunits.

Are you saying that the software segfaulted in Ubuntu 20.04?

Re: Very high CPU temps on medium setting

Hi Dan and welcome to the forum. That seems quite unusual, particularly with that nicer cooler. I'd guess that there is dust in the radiator or something that is interfering with the cooling. Cleaning it should help. If cleaning it doesn't help much, then I'd recommend setting up a custom setup that...

Re: Any danger in a (possibly slightly) broken GPU?

Hey Joker, I don't know if I would recommend it. That kind of sounds like a memory problem, is my guess. You're welcome to try F@h and I'd just advise you to keep a close eye on the log to see if workunits successfully complete. The workunits check themselves and the server also does some final chec...

Re: FAHClient works, but error on website

H Ben, That looks looks like a standard status report from SystemD. I do not see anything unusual or bad in that last status. You do not need to restart your computer to restart the Folding@home software. Instead, the command "sudo service FAHClient restart" should restart the software. If...

Re: Broken .deb dependencies on Debian stable

About the github project you mention. I found the account here: https://github.com/FoldingAtHome But I don't see the FAHClient sources. Is it still closed-source? If I can get the sources for FAHClient and its dependencies, I can build from source on BSD. FAHClient is closed-source due to concerns ...

Re: Cannot download work units over VPN

Hi and welcome to the forum. This is very interesting. I wonder if the block is on the F@h assignment servers instead of on both NordVPN and ProtonVPN. I like the Proton team and I wouldn't expect them to set up some shenanigans on their VPN. I'm wondering though if you can exclude certain IP addres...
