Re: Client sits there for hours before retrying to get WU
The retry period increases exponentially, a strategy designed to protect a server returning from downtime from being instantly swamped. When the servers are busy, shortening the retry period will likely make things worse, not better. That said, you can rest the retry timer by pausing the slot, waiti...

Re: Error on init FAHControl
Try using a different theme. I have a vague memory of problems with many themes. I don't know offhand what will work on Arch.

Re: Debian 32bit not working
I'm not sure if there is any work left for 32-bit Linux systems.
How many processor cores do you have? Is the hardware actually 32-bit or 64-bit?
Note many (older) laptops will overheat when trying to sustain the F@H processing load.

We need a bit more information in order to check. Please post your log -- go to the Advanced Control, log tab, press Refresh and Copy. Paste the result in a reply here, using Code tags.

Re: Linux: Slow down GPU processing when PC in use
Unfortunately the current GPU control systems do not allow meaningful task prioritization, as is done for CPU tasks. The only option is to pause the GPU slot when you need to use it. It's something which is a known issue with no known solution, I would expect something to be implemented when the GPU...

Go to Advanced Control, log tab, click Refresh then Copy, and post the result here in Code tags. Then we might be able to see what's happening.

Suggest you get some experience first. Beta is about spotting things that are out of the ordinary.

Re: WU sent but didn’t show up in stats
We certainly need to know if users with a [passkey and qualified (ten successful returns) and meeting the (first) timeout are only getting base points. I have not seen evidence of that (doesn't mean it hasn't happened), and I'm not sure that investigation would be a priority, but it would (probably)...

Re: Completed WU 11741 (0, 6359, 14) fails to upload
In theory, that's how it works. Recent upgrade seems to result in this issue, where the WU has uploaded but the server gives PLEASE_WAIT instead of acknowledging. We're still tying down the circumstances and consequences.
Remind me here tomorrow if the situation persists and I'll check again.

If any WUs appear not to be credited by this time tomorrow, we need to know the project(run, clone, generation) to search for it.

Re: Restoring a client after resetting a pc
What do you mean by reset? F@H will survive an unscheduled reboot, for example, with nothing worse than the possible loss of the current WUs. If you reinstall the OS, you may be able to retain the work and settings. If you reformat the user data disk, you will lose everything not returned, but can r...

My guess is that the upload succeeded, but it's not showing in the stats yet.
Wait if you want to be sure of the points.
