I can not speak for the ATI gpu but have tried this with an X2 6000+ and an Nvidia 8800GT. Running any cpu folding on the same core that is feeding the gpu client kills the gpu folding performance. My T61 running Ubuntu 7.10 under VMware and XP Pro is getting 2329.89ppd on project 2669.
