Re: Configuring GPU

If there's by the way anyone who could fix the "For technical details" link at viewtopic.php?t=26208 then this would be great. I.e., while it's stated everywhere that GPUs.txt is both a white- and blacklist I can't any information about exactly how it is such anywhere. Searching for that ...

Re: A few (stupid?) questions

Hi and no worries. 1) There's not a whole lot of ways. The F@h software is fairly optimized and it should get as much out of the hardware as it can by itself. I'd say one of the most important things is making sure that it stays cool and well-ventilated, but that's good advice for any other machine ...

Re: Client doesn't do a thing

Hi and welcome to the forum.

This looks like something is dismantling the network traffic, like from a firewall. What antivirus/antimalware do you have on your PC? What's the brand of your Internet home router?

You can also use pictures. It's a relay race, but it's a marathon, and we're collectively building something like this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b9/ACBP_MSM_from_Folding%40home.tiff/lossless-page1-640px-ACBP_MSM_from_Folding%40home.tiff.png Now imagine that instead of a...

Re: Points not in Donor search

Hi Ryan and welcome to the forum.

The stats system is under very heavily load from the flood of new users. It may take some time for your name to show up on the search page. It updates periodically, so I'd recommend checking tomorrow.

Re: Running F@H on a server

Hi and welcome to the forum. This is possible, actually. First, install the FAHClient software on the server. It should prompt you for the username, team ID, and passkey, so you can put that all in. Once FAHClient is running and the folding has started as you want, stop the service with "sudo s...

Re: My PC have not downloaded any WU for

Hi and welcome to the forum. The reason is that there's been a huge flood of new users to the network and the servers are simply flooded under the load. The teams are trying to fix that, so hopefully it settles out soon. Related sticky threads: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=33193 viewtopic.php?f=61&t...

Re: Points not properly credited?

It's not punishment at all. Users get the QRB after 10 workunits and keep the QRB as long as they maintain a 80% rate of successfully returning workunits. This prevents someone from grabbing a bunch of workunits, crashing them, and quickly returning them back to server for bonus points. These kind o...

Re: 10000 cores to donate for 3 weeks. Help me set up FAHCon

For each machine, add the following two lines to their subnet: <allow v='10.0.0.0/8 127.0.0.1'/> <password v='PASSWORD_GOES_HERE'/> Of course replace the subnet and password with the subnet of your LAN and password of your choice. Leave the 127.0.0.1 item in there. Then on the FAHControl that you wa...

Re: Not earning any points

Hey There! Thanks for your reply, both my CPU and GPU had "projects" which they finished, stats show I currently finished 2 WUs. On the web control the estimated points are 30,000. But I receive only 2% of the estimated points. I currently gained 1,100 points. Where do you seeing those nu...

Re: should some DNS TTLs be lowered?

I don't think it has anything to do with DNS, since the only DNS hostnames involved are assign1.foldingathome.org and assign2.foldingathome.org, which always point to the two Assignment Servers. Each AS will point you to a Work Server (WS) to get the workunits, and you'll then return them to the WS,...

Re: Not earning any points

Hi and welcome to the forum. I suspect that the CPU is waiting for more work and is sometimes unable to get workunits from the server. The servers are under very high load from all the new users and I'd recommend leaving everything running and it will pick up work in time. The research teams are get...

Re: VMWare ESXi

Hi and welcome to the forum. There is a VMWare application for F@h, as I recall. It's not official or supported by us, but we could probably help you with the F@h software itself and any issues you encounter with it. There's a related thread here: viewtopic.php?f=106&t=33099&p=316893#p316893...
