Re: New router unable to connect to server.

OK, since you can't open http://assign.stanford.edu:8080 or http://assign2.stanford.edu with the FAH client, it's not getting any internet connectivity.

What does tracert assign2.stanford.edu give you?

Re: New router unable to connect to server.

Please post FAHlog.txt showing which servers you can't reach. There are several servers which are currently returning connection errors and they may not be corrected until tomorrow about this time of day due to the holiday schedule. Are you able to receive new work assignments? Also temporarily disa...

Re: Project: 3062 (Run 3, Clone 26, Gen 1)

I've just had the same issue and i thought posting my FAHlog (pasted from Fahmon - great tool imo) could potentially be of use to others/project overall ?(despite how small a possible contribution, its the small that adds up to the whole i guess). I'm going to try restarting the WU from the latest b...

Re: Stats page list processors over 2?

Does anyone fold on multiple boxes? . . . Is there a restriction? How can I be assured that I am getting full credits and not using CPU time wastefully? There is no restriction. On each box, find FAHlog.txt and look at the first page where it says: [xx:xx:xx] - User name: yyyyyyy (Team zzz) and con...

Re: Project 2608 (Run 0, Clone 389, Gen 18)

It appears that you've received a corrupt WU. The server assumes that the WU was corrupted in transmission and it generally retransmitts the same WU three times before moving on to something else. Presumably that's what happened after the end of the log that you posted.

Thank you for the report.

Re: Project 3062 PPD

This is very repeatable and agrees with the reports from my teammates, and others. One item that has not been mentioned: Changes in the WU. All WUs are benchmarked at Gen 0. As the protein folds, the calculation times inevitability change as the protein changes shape. I have no idea how much the ca...

Re: I have a bit of an issue

The v5.03 GUI client is a uniprocessor client which means it is limited to running on one processor at a time, which is exactly what you've observed. You have two choices which can increase your productivity. There is a beta SMP client that can use up to four CPUs simultaneously. The Windows SMP cli...

Re: Which client should I download?

Configuration settings are slghtly different depending on whether you'r running the V5 console client or the V6 console client. This is what you would see with V6. The xxxxx's are the value you prevously set (or the original default if you have not set anything yet. User name [xxxxxxx]? Team Number ...

Running qfix is worth a try if there's a wuresults_0x.dat file in WORK.

Re: New posts count link

With the current phpBB code, the unread post count does not decrease until you logoff. It starts at the number that was unread the last time you logged on and increases as new posts are added. As you visit the posts, the colored "new post" indicator goes away and you can click the button t...

Re: Uncredited p3903

About the reject mode situation : the serverstatus page refreshes every 10 minutes ... so a server can be back before the page update that still shows it as rejecting ;) That is certaihly one possiblity. There's another, though. It may be that the server was continuously rejecting connections but t...

Re: phpbb3 default theme etc. discussion

In my first encounter with phpBB3, I didn't like the right hand user panel, but I'm getting used to it. One significant advantage that I can think of: if you have a narrow screen, you get to read more of the post without scrolling but you can still move to the right if you want to. (I visit from a n...

Re: "Resetting a work unit"

Actually there are quite a few files in WORK which, if missing, will cause the WU to restart from zero. WURESULTS isn't one of them. If that file exists, you've finished the WU and the startup data has been deleted.

In most cases, you'll find a *.chk file and without it, it will restart.
