Re: Idea: Low priority WUs

The problem with slow computers is that they hold up a whole run/clone -- the next generation start needs the previous complete return. So the deadline are set to encourage the use of reasonably fast computers. I suspect (but have not checked) that the total compute power donated by computers/GPUs t...

Re: FAHControl at Raspberry pi

Not useless at all: very good info when the next person (here or on the Pi forum) demands a Pi folding client.
Much better than the normal "Pis aren't powerful enough for Folding", which I've had to say too often.
Thanks for trying it!

Re: FAHControl at Raspberry pi

Nice idea. I think you only need FAHControl, which is written in Python. So it should be possible to port the Linux (x64) package to Raspbian (ARM) -- unless there is some component that prevents it.
I'm not familiar with the innards, though. I think the source is now available on Github.

Re: Send Errors - 155.247.164.213 & .214

Expiration is given in the right-hand pane of the Status tab of FAHControl. Once they expire, they will be deleted by the client. But let's hope they upload before then.
Try a Pause then Fold on the relevant slot, that will reset the retry delay. Just don't do it too often....

Re: FAH for Raspbian/Raspberry?

I don't think the Raspberry Pi Foundation (the not-for-profit organization) or Raspberry Pi Trading (the wholly-owned trading subsidiary) have the resources or the mandate (their registered aims are educational) to take this on. Consider also the impact on the small F@h development team -- there is ...

See my response and toTOW's response above. Between them they explain why and how the CPU is used for GPU folding.

Not odd. Just non-existent. Not every project uses a CS, though it certainly helps to avoid some return problems.

Re: Detecting Idle

It does depend a bit on your OS. Web control is intended to be simple while giving the basic information and control.
fahcontol (aka Advanced Control) is far more comprehensive.

Hey guys, there is no point in commenting about upload failures without identifying the projects and servers concerned, preferably by posting a full log. This topic is about two particular servers, please start a different topic for different servers.
You can get some server information here.

Re: Donar name change and their credit and WU related?

There is no user "number" on the F@H system, AFAICT. EOC stats assign a number but it can change, it does not appear to be a primary key.

Re: First time folder - GTX 1080 ti PPD

GPU folding (at least on nVidia) requires one core per GPU to supervise the data transfers. That core will be fully loaded, because it uses a "spin wait" between transfers. This is not ideal but is required by the current GPU drivers.

Re: 128.252.203.10 Losing Work Units?

The summary is this: if you get credit or see the WU in the WU status tool, then it has been received. Otherwise, if the upload in your log looks correct, the science has almost certainly been received but there is a delay in the link to stats. The stats server will usually be a lower priority than ...

The client should start on another WU (if it can get one) as soon as the first is finished. It doesn't wait for the previous one to upload.

Re: Completed WU 13821 (64, 2, 83) fails to upload

Can you post the log including download and (some of) the processing?
It may be a faulty WU but the evidence is not in that log extract.
