Re: Running FAH on low power.
Unfortunately, low power hardware and compute intensive tasks are antagonist ... :( No, it's just a question of time. This is the main reason that running FAH on smartphones is very unlikely to happen. But there is an ARM client and it runs on a raspberry pi (which i even used in the beginning). Ru...

Re: Running FAH on low power.
There is an advanced option called "max-packet-size" which could be set to "small", "normal" or "big" but this controls the size of the download, (for dial up modems) not the length of processing time you want. While there is some correlation, it is not 1 to ...

Re: Running FAH on low power.
I'm also running on solar, but am powering my whole house which happens to include PCs. 32 panels and 38kw of batteries I'm not the owner of the house, so i can't build a "big" solar installation. Specifying fewer cores may get you smaller Work Units for your CPU. That also lowers computa...

Running FAH on low power.
I understand that there is an interest to get WUs completed as fast as possible. Bonus points kick in for this MASSIVELY. However i'm running FAH on an insular solar powered battery supported NUC. So power consumption is very hard to deal with and your point system is completely against me, because ...

Re: In-depth donor history?
Are u sure ur reading the logs close enough? I could get that info off my own systems if i wanted to: Are you sure you read my post close enough? Now don't klick pause and resume but just shutdown your computer, or even just unplug the power cable. Yep, this probably is not a common use case for mo...

Re: In-depth donor history?
Buuuh, i do not think there's a way to get the pure folding times u are looking for unless you personally do the work yourself of combing thru your own log files to pull that data and subtract out any total paused times. Parsing the logfile is not sufficient, as it doesn't contain any information o...

Re: In-depth donor history?
I'm looking for the same stats. I'd like to collect workunit "type", base points, real points reached and time spent on calculation (not time started and time finished, but how much time was acutally spent on the WU calculating, in case it was paused one or multiple times during calculatio...

Re: Linux: How fix GPU configuration issue?
sudo apt install ocl-icd-opencl-dev Already did that but didn't help. During the time my post was confirmed by a moderator, it turned out, that i had to reinstall or modify the current driver installation... have no clue what it actually did.... however "reinstalling" the driver with amdg...

Re: System running hot
Do you suppose this machine just folds "hot" or... ?? Any thoughts? If it did not run hot before, something must have changed. A CPU or GPU does not get just accidentially become hotter for no reason. Do not just change paste, but check your cooler for dust, also do this on your powersupp...

Re: Linux: How fix GPU configuration issue?
You may have success installing the AMD client driver for OpenCL: Installed them after i got OpenCL: Not detected: clGetPlatformIDs() returned -1001 in log.txt. I even did a reboot after that. Now log.txt doesn't even say anything anymore about my 6900xt. 20:54:09:WU00:FS00:Running FahCore: /usr/bi...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 CPU 50%
Sorry for necro, but is this still the case? If you start a new WU while only using 2 cores it won't be able to run on 4 cores? I just wondered why the heck the my current WU won't use 4 cores anymore, after i switched fahclient to 4 cores manually. I know it was downloaded while using only 2 cores....
