Re: New F@H Version Section
That was fast. Is there a problem with 7.6.8?

Re: New Client 7.6.8
COVID-19 Projects are high priority and with the new client, they can be set as preference too. I thought selecting "Any" meant that you preferentially got assigned to high priority projects. At least that's what we've been telling people for the last month when they wanted to work on COV...

Re: Transferring WUs from one GPU to another
Personally I wouldn't mess with it. While it might be possible to move a work unit to a different slot, you'd have to throw out the work done by the 1030 & start over, otherwise the 1660 would probably just dump the WU. I think the odds of losing the WU entirely are too great to be worth the ris...

Re: ppd i7-9700k
My 9700K generally gets in the neighborhood of 100K PPD on 6 cores.

Re: Can't get my Radeon HD 5870 working
Correct. You need to install the drivers from AMD, the open source ones won't work.I'm assuming the OpenCL needs to be fixed first

Re: Complete WU Not Uploading While Other WUs Complete/Uploa
Completed work units that fail to upload don't prevent your CPU or GPU from completing & turning in other work units (at least, that's been my experience). Best thing to do is let it keep trying. If it never manages to upload, it will be deleted automatically after the expiration date.

Re: GPU, didn't expect that
When you added your GPU slot, did you set aside a CPU core for it? It sounded like you had all your CPU cores already assigned to CPU slots; the GPU slot needs one to manage the GPU. If all the CPU cores are assigned to CPU slots, then the GPU slot is competing with the CPU slots for CPU time, which...

Re: How to stop folding on CPU
The CPU & GPU each have their own folding slots. If you want to stop CPU folding, just delete the CPU slot & you're done; you don't need to make a new slot.
The GPU slot will use one CPU core to manage the GPU, so your CPU usage isn't going to drop to 0, but it will be lower.

Re: Assigned to work server 192.0.2.1
Getting assigned to work server 192.0.2.1 (a non-existent address) is often a sign that your GPU is not supported. The GeForce 7300 LE doesn't support OpenCL & probably doesn't have 64 bit floating point either, so it isn't going to be able to fold; it's just too old to have the necessary featur...

Re: WU DUMPED after 5 days :( 13871 (Run 0, Clone 663, Gen 9
I agree with rwh202. That GPU doesn't have 64 bit floating point, so it's never going to get a work unit. Using both CPU cores for CPU folding will significantly reduce the time it takes to complete CPU work units, reducing the chances of this happening again.

Re: Progress reported in viewer differs radically from contr
I notice the same thing. When I first start the viewer it's only slightly behind the Advanced Control, but the longer I leave it running the larger the time & status difference gets. It happens when viewing the local machine slot and when remotely accessing folding slots on other machines.

Re: WU 14572 INTERRUPTED
Well, you've got a 32 thread CPU and it's going to reserve 2 threads to manage your 2 GPU slots leaving you with 30 threads for the CPU slot. That 30 can be a problem since it's a multiple of 5. You might try instead creating 2 CPU slots, one with 24 cores and one with 6; that would use all 30 remai...

Re: WU 14572 INTERRUPTED
How many CPU cores is your CPU slot configured for? It looks like it was initially trying to use 29 cores which is a bad number due to being a large prime, and then it tried to downgrade to 28 cores which is also a bad number due to being a multiple of 7 which is another large prime. You ideally wan...

Re: Uninstaling on a Mac
Folding@home puts the client executable in an unusual location (unusual for a Mac, anyway) that some Mac cleaner programs might not think to check. You should use the uninstaller that comes with the program - try reinstalling Folding@home & then running the uninstall program in /Applications/Fol...
