Re: AVX512 faster than the very best GPUs?
Don't know much about about Deep learning but given that said task requires huge amount of VRam and F@h barely uses any, i would guess that there aren't similarities between the two workloads.

Re: Χ99 EVGA FTW-K-i7 5960X 8cores
You'd be better off just buying cheaper boards and running Linux. I've noticed little drop off running x4 in Linux although I admit I don't run crazy expensive gpus. And do you really need 2400W? Even 4 3090s wouldn't go anywhere near that much. I can't recall my logic for picking 2x 1200W psus the...

Re: Permission to re-use the "Even while you sleep" video
If we're provided, say, an .srt-file with the English captions, it should be easy to translate it. Yup, that's what I plan to do in addition to fixing the URL at the end of the video - although rather than translating the text verbatim in the transcript, I plan on using more formal English in the t...

Re: Project 17435 (Run 0, Clone 172, Gen 111) Stalled Before
I've been getting some WUs of the same project on my RX 480 lately. They seem to hit the GPU hard [99% Usage, not typical of the RX 480] and the have a long TPF of 5mins10secs. They have bumped my PPD to +20% levels, around 500K.

Re: Points "earned"
OK, thanks. But.....what's in it for me? Recognition only (in some form/fashion), exchange for physical objects of some kind, or whaT Why bother? As you read, in the first place you can be proud of your points but nothing else. As JimboPalmer mentioned you can see it as a game to compete with other...

Re: Permission to re-use the "Even while you sleep" video
I volunteer to translate any material needed from English to Greek. I know some French too, but I haven't used em in ages, so that's out of the question.

Re: Version for MacOS with Apple M1 processor?
Does HFM.NET work on the M1s OS? If it does, you could use it to monitor your WUs more easily, and draw the correct conclusions.

Re: Χ99 EVGA FTW-K-i7 5960X 8cores
So its 5x PCIe 3.0 x8 and a SATA SSD. I was just calculating the cost of the entire package. 300E mobo+cpu 100E 4 dimms of RAM 40E for a Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 Black 530E for 2x Corsair HX Series HX1200 - 1200W - 80+ Platinum 20E for an SSD That's around 1000E without any graphic cards.  ...

Re: GPUs with artifacts
50E for, lets say, a broken R9 270... I did get my Fingers on a 'broken' GTX770 for just 20€ including shipping. Its a very long card. There was a high chance it was mounted without a supporting stand. And as i expected: One of the outer VRAMs, just where the card would bend, had a poor balled BGA....

Re: Version for MacOS with Apple M1 processor?
I have a new M1 MacBook Air and the latest client 7.6.21 wouldn't launch but I tried using 7.6.13 as others have suggested and it has been running fine for about 10 minutes so far. PPD started at around 45000 but is now around 22000, likely due to the passive only cooling for the Air. A MacBook Pro...

Re: Χ99 EVGA FTW-K-i7 5960X 8cores
Τhe main issue is that I'll have to wait for gpu prices to drop. And by then, a better deal may have arisen. History has shown that GPU prices don't drop. A new generation of GPUs is released in a tier with higher performance levels and with higher prices. The old generation's prices may go ...
