Re: PS4 / XB1?
NookieBandit, you seem very keen to get a client rolling for these consoles, and you seem like the person who has the means to get it going. When the PS3 client was released, it was the largest contributor by FLOPS for a very long time, simply due to the power/machine and the large install base. The...

Re: Help - Low PPD Amd 7950
That makes sense, I have 2 7790's clocked at 1175Mhz and Mem at 1600Mhz. They get 108k PPd between them on 14.4.

Re: Client statistics question
Thanks for your responses! I'm not an expert on bit coin but I thought that the more people that were mining them then the harder they became to produce. And with the introduction of dedicated ASICs, GPU's were no longer an economical option. Add to that the probability that most people who fold do ...

Client statistics question
Happy New Year all. My question regards the statistics by client OS. Overall we seem to have a lot of flops at the moment (16,117,000,000,000 at the time of writing) and the majority of these appear to be coming from "Nvidia Fermi GPU". With only 70 TFLOPS apparently coming from ATI GPU's....

Re: CPU Utilization higher with 13.12 drivers
I was just about to post a comment similar to this. I have a haswell 4670k and 2 HD7790's on windows 8.1 (64 bit) with the new 13.12 driver (WHQL). CPU utilisation is up to ~10% per core as per JimF's comment above, whereas it used to sit around 1%. I only upgraded the driver due to the frame pacing...

Re: Buy AMD or NVidia GPU for PPD?
It is my experience with core 17 that it does not use any CPU at all (around 0.2%). It uses a whole core for the first minute or two while the GPU is loaded (I assume) but then the WU runs without further overhead. I am running 2 AMD 7790's with around 75k ppd for the pair. I am also running rosetta...

Re: Guessing F@H GPU uses explicit solvent?
I'm no expert, however it is my assumption that GPU's use implicit based on this evidence... If you look on the project table http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html you see that the OpenMM units typically have around 600 atoms, this would suggest that water is an implicit model and not included i...
