Re: Ability to abort/cancel a workunit?

It's a shame I can't cancel. I'll give you my use case. This machine is usually booted into a different OS (unusual) but I had some time to do a long disk copy (10 hours) so I decided to allow it to fold. Both a 24 CPU and a 32 CPU core (my machine has 56 virtual cores) Slot each got a 3 day job. Im...

Re: FAH downloads blocked by IP policy

Also note that the problems weren't occurring in the DNS service. CloudFlare does have the capability of doing that of course, but there are other things such as firewall rules that can be used to sense and block IP streams. This browser (firefox) does use cloud flare DNS to sanitize the sites it vi...

Re: FAH downloads blocked by IP policy

Ok that's good to know they are physically onsite/being hosted. A system such as cloudflare could still be used but that is not likely. Of course now, magically the systems are working. Looks like the problem was happening when connecting to assign<x>.foldingathome.org. Here is a sample log: 01:33:2...

Re: FAH downloads blocked by IP policy

Well I just want to be clear that this happened less than a week ago. Also, there are similar posts about other kinds of blockages happening at cloudflare. So it depends on how your cloud service is set up for FAH whether "intelligence feeds" are impacting you. As an example: https://commu...

FAH downloads blocked by IP policy

Hi, This happened a whileback too, but basically I am unable to run any of my little "farm" now without configuring VPN on each machine. Everything was working fine within the last week but now all my agents' workloads get stuck on "download". I strongly suspect this is related t...

Re: FAH@docker and FAHControl

Has anyone had any work units accepted recently using the container hosted at https://hub.docker.com/u/foldingathome ? My container is having all wu's rejected with "Failed to get assignment from 'assign1.foldingathome.org:80': No WUs available for this configuration" I really believe the ...

Re: FAH will not connect properly

Seeing same thing on linux here- "Failed to start LSB: Folding@Home Client. running /bin/FAHClient from terminal worked, but I agree it is much better to have this autostart as a daemon and the scripts are all there. I too tried uninstalling and reinstalling hoping for that ever-important quest...

Re: Update requested on OSX and modern GPU's

Hi, Got through the WU and everything switched to 4 cores. Thanks- It might warrant a note somewhere. The behavior is not clear about waiting for a WU to complete before increasing the # cores but not true for decreasing and I certainly am seeing a lot of posts like this one that the Macs are runnin...

Re: Update requested on OSX and modern GPU's

PantherX- thanks for the response! I think this is incorrect. I am seeing instantaneous CPU % changes when I change the # cores on the mac mini (see above, and attached screen shots). So if I set it to 4 on the mini, cpu usage immediately goes down to 400% and I can see it in the CPU monitor too. ht...

Re: Update requested on OSX and modern GPU's

Hi, The original question still needs to be addressed I believe; I concur OpenCL is dead and done, by none other than the creators of OpenCL. My Mac OS X MacbookPro mid 2012 machine has 4 cores and is a 2.5 Ghz core i5. I have a practically identical vintage mac mini Late 2012 with 8 cores and is a ...
