Are the cards running that hot because you're letting NVidia control the fan curves? If you don't intervene that's what NVidia will do - run them up to 82C. Out of laziness and a childish desire for speed and simplicity, I fitted my dedicated F@H rig built in April with only a 256MiB M.2 card. I barely use it except for folding. We’ll see what happens.

Reverted to Ubuntu 18.04 and didn't install third-party software or automatic login and... after the incantations from LTT that I did before, back in April, it... seems to work fine, after a week idle.

Awaiting some new horror. But we'll see. Thanks for all help and suggestions.
