Another update, my previous comment used poor language.
Not even close to meeting the timeout, and barely meeting the expiration on my system.
Looking at the LAR website, it appears that the species selections for 18706-07 may be optimistic for both AMD and Nvidia GPU's.

Re: Dell Dimension E521 Information
It might have potential. They made those with a wide variety of hardware, and though the cases are often strange to say the least, many had decent components. I purchased a pre-built system for my daughter at one point, and while doing some research on memory upgrades found the board was one commonl...

Re: AMD RX6000+ family GPU owners, please update to 22.7.1 drivers for optimal F@H performance
I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but in the release notes under Fixed Issues: Lower than expected Folding@home™ compute performance with OpenCL™ API on some AMD Graphics Products such as the Radeon™ RX 6800. Auto Undervolt may disable Zero RPM fan feature. It might have taken them a while, but t...

Re: 3950x LOW PPD
on difference. For the P17604 WU ... still 4.1M ... power consumption is at 50%. Folding power is set to FULL. Like this workload doesn't even try and stress the GPU. I do limit to 83 degrees, but it is running at 55 degrees right now... no where near a limit. I find the same trends even on (much) ...

Re: Project 18706 - Timeout too short
Just an FYI on this project, with no regards to how the timeout or deadline are set. I picked one up on my lowly Vega 11 onboard my Ryzen. It could make the deadline.... barely. I assume that due to the AMD cards not having species identification that my onboard graphics are lumped in with quicker V...

Re: 3950x LOW PPD
Oh yes, this thread. While my PPD average over time started decreasing last few weeks… it certainly appears to vary greatly for the WUs. I finish most WUs in 1-2 hours IIRC. However I seem to be getting a lot more WUs these days that end up with “2-3M PPD” instead of what used to (and the daily res...

That's quite the bump from a driver alone. Well worth the update it seems!

Re: Hardware PPD list
This might have already been posted in this thread, but I've found it to be the most helpful "Hardware PPD list" (GPUs only): https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/overall_ranks Also, I have to wonder if this list considers the Passkey bonus by netting it out or if it is based on the PPD WI...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7
Not sure what you mean by renamed the client. The client is called "black" - it's windows network name and the label in HFM. I've never changed that. I've never used the history viewer before. But when I looked just now, it stops on 30th June, for all computers. Could something have been ...

Correction on my part. Have you renamed the client for any reason?Peter_Hucker wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 1:53 am I've never changed the name of a slot. I often swap GPUs around physically. But creating a slot I let it do automatically.
And are your work units currently showing up under the Work Unit History Viewer?

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7
Just an update from me... went back to V9.28/1718, added the (local) slot and everything is back up and running fine again. I'm not sure how old the previous version was, and it may have just needed a computer related update that I missed until I installed the later HFM. @Pete_Hucker, Have you by ch...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7
I've upgraded the previous versions of HFM.NET on three of my networked Win10 machines - worked fine on two of them, but on the third, now if I double click on the HFM icon nothing happens(!) No idea why the new version doesn't work with that one. I have had to roll back the version on that machine...

Re: HFM.NET - Monitoring Application for Folding@Home v7
Hi Bob - Thank you. Easy and stable are a developers two favorite words. :) Please give the new version, that I'm about to post, a go. If you continue to experience issues, I'll do my best to help. I guess I just ran the old version to death. I upgraded to ver 9.28.1718.0 and everything was fine fo...

Re: WU and crashing systems (inefficient)
FAH is a scientific project that requires hardware stability. Bolded for emphasis. The only hard part about getting set up for better folding is accepting that it will tax a system much more than most benchmarks. I used multiple benchmarks running at once for days, but when folding it was not up to...
